Review of Quality Inn & Suites
The Quality Inn and Suites is a stand-out amongst the accommodations in South Fork, Colorado. Firstly it’s visually prominent because it’s a two storey hotel on the main street, but it’s also a stand out because of the quality. Sure it’s not a 5 star resort and it’s a little dated, but it’s up there as the best accommodation in town.
The Quality Inn is very popular with families, and many of the visitors are repeat customers. This speaks volumes for the value for money accommodation and service provided by this hotel.
Where is the Quality Inn?
The Quality Inn and Suites is located on the main street (highway 160) of South Fork, Colorado. The hotel is centrally located in South Fork within short walking distance of the shops, a couple of restaurants and the pub.
The hotel is one of the closest accommodations to the
Wolf Creek ski area, only 20 minutes away, and it’s much closer to Wolf Creek than all the accommodations in Pagosa Springs.
Hotel Rooms
The rooms are really spacious so there’s plenty of space to swing a cat, and there’s no fear of tripping over your luggage. Standard rooms have either two queens or a king bed. In-room facilities include a TV, coffee maker, and little extras like a hairdryer, ironing board and iron. The décor is very simple and a little old-fashioned, and the bed manchester has some polyester elements to it, but more importantly the beds are really comfortable. The hot tub will help with weary muscles, but there’s nothing better than sleeping on a big comfortable bed to refresh the body.
In addition to standard rooms, the Quality Inn has suites including a jacuzzi suite and a family suite that sleeps up to 7 adults. There is also a lovely condo out the back of the hotel that is available to rent.
Hotel Facilities
A feature of the hotel is the indoor pool and hot tub; one of the social epicentres of the hotel where many a story of Wolf Creek powder has been told. The other social hub is the small communal area in the lobby where there are tables, chairs and comfie couches.
There is wireless internet access available throughout the hotel, but it’s a bit inconsistent. This is a problem that’s not just present at the Quality Inn but across the area.

- Convenient parking out the front
Dining/Bars
A continental breakfast is included in the rates. The quality of breakfast is many steps up from the donut and coffee affair you get in some economical hotels, with self service items such as cereal, hot oatmeal, bagels, waffles and yoghurt, as well as juice and coffee.
The Quality Inn does not have a bar. You’ll need to wander down to the Logger for a drink.
Why Stay at the Quality Inn?
Apart from the spacious rooms and comfortable beds, the level of service provided by the staff and hostess are steps above what you’d expect for a hotel that’s not 4 or 5 star.
The Quality Inn has the rates you’d expect of a budget motel; except that the quality is much better.
