The Vicheres Liddes skiing & snowboarding terrain is on a vaguely north-east aspect gaining morning sun and shade in the afternoon. Around 15km of pistes doesn't sound like much, but it feels alot bigger when on the hill. The highest lifted point of 2,267m provides 672m of skiable vertical all the way down to the car park on a longest descent of over 4km.

Where is Vichères Liddes Switzerland?
The Vicheres Liddes ski resort is deep in the southwest corner of canton Valais in Switzerland, overlooking the road to the Grand St Bernard Pass that leads to the Aosta Valley in Italy.
Vichères - Liddes Accommodation
With no ski lodgings at the resort, overnight accommodation at Vichères - Liddes is limited to a few holiday rental homes & apartments plus the handy Hôtel du Grand-St-Bernard. The hotel is in the small village of Liddes, so having your own vehicle is handy to get around. The ski lift base is a none too insignificant 5½km away via the narrow road. Buses make the journey but not conveniently. Liddes has all the basics required for a stay and of course you can get some local fromage from a roadside vending machine. The Japanese would be proud! Further south along the road to the Grand St Bernard Tunnel, the village of Bourg-Saint-Pierre has several hotels with reasonable availability at short notice.

Away from Liddes, if one had to pick the most central village to stay in when exploring all the Pays du St Bernard resorts, Orsières is the best choice. At the end of the train line from Martigny and with bus and road links to all the ski areas, Orsières also has one of the best restaurants in the region at the fantastic Hôtel Terminus, unsurprisingly situated just near the train and bus station. In the centre of the eerily quiet Orsieres old town, Hotel de l'Union provides an alternative.
