Ability & Terrain
Whilst you do need to be in good physical condition, you don't have to be an expert skier or boarder to join a Mallin Alto tour. As a minimum you should be a “strong-intermediate” with respect to a variety of off-piste snow conditions. Much of the terrain is wide open with plenty of room to manoeuvre. Experts will still have fun and there are various rock features for launching if you wish.
The ski and snowboard terrain includes a little tree skiing when there is fresh snow and cold temperatures.
Please get in touch if you have any questions.
Uphill
The fast tracked vehicles and snowmobiles are utilised for the uphill so you can enjoy skiing or snowboarding down. The adrenaline and speed of the snowmobiles, and the comfort and safety of the ATV tracks are the added value in your skiing journey. With fast vehicles it shortens the time between descents, so you'll get plenty of vertical in.
Equipment
You need to have a helmet and your own snowboard or skis (fat skis are recommended). Ski and snowboard rentals are available in Bariloche if required.
All guests can be provided with a beacon and backpack with shovel and probe, but BYO if you have it.
Guides
The backcountry guides are locals with IFMGA mountain guide qualifications. Each guide takes up to a maximum of 6 guests plus there are experienced staff to drive the snowmobiles.
