Himalayan Heliski Nepal

Himalayan Heliski in Nepal offers powder skiing and snowboarding amongst the biggest mountains in the world. This Nepal heli skiing experience combines the serenity of Nepal with the thrill of heli skiing in such majestic mountains.

Himalayan Heliski operates in the Annapurna region of the Himalayan Mountains. Annapurna is often translated to “goddess of the harvests” or the “mother who feeds” and with Himalayan Heliski you’ll definitely get the mother of all experiences whilst out harvesting powder!

The best weather for heli skiing in the Himalayas is often in the mornings, and in the afternoon, options for activities include heli mountain biking, monastery tours, visits to villages, and hot pool excursions. The real immersion is of the cultural type and the ancient doctrines of this beautiful land.

Where is Himalayan Heliski?

The base for your Himalayan Heliski trip is Farmhouse Lodge, which enjoys a very remote and tranquil location within the high basin of Annapurna Sanctuary. It’s located near Bhratang which is just northeast of Annapurna II and is northwest of Kathmandu.

Nepal may be known for its complicated travel logistics but Himalayan Heliski makes your trip seamless from the moment you touch down in Kathmandu.

From Kathmandu International Airport, guests are flown by Twin Otter to Humde Airport (45 mins) in Upper Manang and then it’s a 5 minute helicopter ride to the lodge.

A night may be required at the beginning or the end of the trip in Kathmandu, which provides a perfect opportunity to soak up the culture and energy of the city.

Terrain & Snow

The Annapurna Sanctuary is over 1,817,533 acres so there is a huge area to play with. There is the full gamut of aspects and slopes to choose from, and the heli skiing terrain varies significantly from mellow slopes up to uber expert slopes (conditions permitting).

In March, snow quality varies from typical spring conditions to deep powder runs.

Each heliski run tends to provide about 800 metres of vertical. Typically the group only skis/rides in the morning because of the usual weather patterns. Commonly it dawns clear and by mid-morning it’s snowing at altitude. No-fly mornings are reasonably uncommon in March.

Terms & Conditions

Himalayan Heliski Reserves the right to cancel any trip at any time for any reason, including but not limited to weather, political instability, natural disaster etc.

The full deposit must be paid prior to 90 days of the 28th February or the first day of the heli ski season as deemed by Himalayan Heliski . If a booking is made within 90 days of trip commencement then full payment must be made within 7 working days. If you do not pay the balance when due your booking may be forfeited.

Within 90 days of the 28th February or the first day of the heli ski season as deemed by Himalayan Heli ski no refund will be given. Himalayan Helsinki operates on minimum numbers so your cancellation could forfeit someone's trip. Hence the no refund.

Himalayan Heliski affords a 7 day grace period for you to change your mind from the deposit date (7 days from the booking confirmation).

The Himalayas have weather, that's why the snow is there and why skiers and snowboarders love them. But it's not the fault of Himalayan Heliski if it rains. In the case of missed ski opportunities they can offer a partial refund of flight time. That refund is dependent on how many hours have been flown and each situation. Himalayan Heliski reserves the right to decide.

However they will do their best to ski your butt off and refund you as much as they can depending on the situation. The mornings are generally bluebird and afternoons build cloud and snow by evening. Welcome to the SNOW FACTORY.

Guiding & Safety

Each guide and client are provided with a backpack containing an airbag, probe and shovel, and an avalanche transceiver. Guides carry radios and sat phones and the helicopter has additional survival equipment, food and first aid equipment.

The head guide is also an altitude medic and there are other medical staff available 24/7. The guides are well versed in Nepal’s safety considerations.
