San Martino di Castrozza - Passo Rolle Ski Resort Italy
The southern most ski resort member of Dolomiti Superski, San Martino di Castrozza - Passo Rolle is an 'off the radar' Dolomites ski resort with an authentic village, fantastic mountain scenery & varied terrain. Its 60km of trails includes a longest run on piste (Fantasia 2000) of 5km over 934m vertical, plus a luscious off-piste freeride descent from the top of the Rosetta cable car which looks to be a perfect pitch on a powder day. Combine that the snowsure trails at high-altitude Passo Rolle and a lift system that boasts 3 gondolas & 13 chairlifts, how is it that we haven't been here before?
Before we get there to check it out for ourselves, see the possibilities of the ski area on the San Martino di Castrozza - Passo Rolle ski trail map below.
Only 134km (2hr) by road north of Venice's Marco Polo Airport (VCE), San Martino - Passo Rolle is one of the most southerly Dolomites ski resorts.
San Martino & Passo Rolle Accommodation
The village of San Martino di Castrozza (1,467m) and the higher elevation Passo Rolle (1,984m) have an impressive backdrop of Dolomiti peaks up to 3,184m altitude (Cimon-della-Pala), making it not only an incredibly picturesque location, but also snow-sure in winter. San Martino has a wonderful selection of accommodations including the ski-in ski-out Malga Ces. In town, several historic hotels like Hotel Savoia dal 1924 and G. Hotel Des Alpes, plus Historic Residence Madonna apartments grace the skyline, providing stellar accommodations. A multitude of other very well-priced 2, 3 & 4-star hotels are available throughout the compact town, including Hotel Europa, Hotel Panorama, Hotel belvedere, Hotel Garni Suisse, Hotel Stalon Alpine Chic, Hotel Villa Aurora, plus the Sayonara Nature & Wellness Hotel .
Up at Passo Rolle overnight accommodation options are few, with Albergo Venezia being the place to stay, central to all the ski lifts & pistes.
