Cat Skiing Bakhmaro & Adjara Georgia
A relatively new cat ski operation in the Lesser Caucasus mountains at Bakhmaro & Adjara in Georgia, Powderproject delivers an exceptional powder skiing experience for more adventurous skiers & snowboarders.
Having run its first season in 2016/17, it has quickly come to terms with its superb terrain, establishing some fantastic routes with up to 800m skiable vertical from a top elevation of 2755m. Most runs are below the high summits though, having between 300 to 500m vertical per run. The terrain includes tree skiing of a Japanese quality! Depending on the group, around 10 runs are completed per day (3,000 to 5,000m vertical/day)
Rustic but comfortable accommodation with bunk rooms, dining & sitting rooms, hot running water, a sauna & sensational local food are provided in what is quite a remote location in winter.
Three to four snowcats will be running at Bakhmaro for season 2019/20 and places fill very quickly. Make your inquiry here.
There are two dates for women only cat-ski tours, providing exclusive use of a snowcat to all female ski groups. Inquire here.
In early March the focus turns to combined cat skiing & backcountry ski touring. Two tour dates are offered, make your inquiry here.
New from season 2019/20 is a remote cat ski operation in Adjara. Access is via Bakhmaro & guests are limited to 12. Accommodation is in a rustic alpine hut located at 2400m elevation. Expert skiers & snowboarders with previous backcountry experience should enquire here.
