Jakobshorn Ski Resort, Davos, Switzerland
Jakobshorn ski resort has fabulous, diverse terrain with reliable snow in the extensive Davos-Klosters ski region. Accessible directly from the Davos Platz train station, and overlooking the city itself, Jakobshorn is easy to get to but with ski adventure galore via its many marked & unmarked freeride ski routes. Big alpine descents to distant valleys, tree-skiing, easy inbounds off-piste bowls & of course plenty of piste trails for all levels make Jakobshorn one of the best all-round ski areas in the region.

Jakobshorn (Davos) Accommodation
Situated directly above the over-bloated town of Davos it makes sense to stay nearby when skiing Jakobshorn. But whilst staying in Davos provides the best ski access, nightlife & shopping, it has become a soulless shadow of what we imagine it must have once been. Too many high-rise buildings, too expensive and a little too much pretence, the locals seem to love it though, and the part of town closest to Jakobshorn is a little more convivial than other parts of town.
Near Davos Platz and the Jakobshorn cable car, the hotels are more affordable (not sure why but it may be just that it is seen to be 'the wrong side of town"!). The pick of them are near the train station & Jakobshorn cable car. Across the road from the station is the 4-star Grischa Hotel, and up behind it, the more affordable, spacious Bernina Bed and Breakfast (more a hotel than a BnB, but it is what it is!).
