Pays du St Bernard Ski Region Switzerland
The Pays du St Bernard ski region (a.k.a. The Land of St Bernard) in a deep dark corner of the Swiss Valais, combines the secret stashes of La Fouly, Champex-Lac & Vichères-Liddes. The three petite ski resorts offer any tight-arsed, larch tree-glade loving powder hound the opportunity to pillage delicious snow within sniffing distance of all the high-flyers at nearby Verbier. Whilst not huge, they all have 600 to 800m of skiable vertical, each has at least one chairlift, there are ski trails for all abilities, and the lift pass is as cheap as one will find this nation of wealth.
Taking the train here is easy from Geneva (GVA) airport to Orsières via Martigny (around 2.5hr), then going further on the bus. The route 271 bus heads to Champex, the 272 to La Fouly and if you are heading to Liddes, take the route 210 bus ..... simples!
Before we get there this season & ski it out for ourselves, check out the Pays du St Bernard Ski Trail Map below.
