Bosco Gurin Ski Resort Switzerland
Bosco Gurin has one of those 'impossibly beautiful' villages that visitors to Europe so adore. And that it has some great skiing as well in a remote part of Ticino Switzerland is undoubtedly a huge bonus. Benefiting from heavy snowfalls during particular weather systems, Bosco Gurin is best sampled when the village is clad in a fairytale-like mantle of snow.
From the village at 1,480m altitude, the skiing at Bosco Gurin rises over 900m vertical to a highest lifted point of 2,400m. About 30km of piste trails, mainly rated for intermediate & advanced riders, are served by 2 chairlifts and 2 major surface tows. Small novice ski zones have a selection of 3 minor surface tows & conveyors.
There are plenty of reasons to visit this part of Switzerland in winter and skiing is just one of them. The local sights and natural wonders, including the nearby Foroglio waterfall & village, are eye-candy of the highest order. We can't wait to go check it out.
Before we get there to see it for ourselves, check out the Bosco Gurin Ski Trail Map below.
Bosco Gurin Accommodation
An historic ‘Walser’ village, Bosco Gurin is seemingly out of place in the Italian-speaking canton of Ticino. A true step back in time, the village is one of the highlights of a visit to the ski resort. Whilst services are relatively limited, overnighting here is essential.
The village’s best hotel is the 3-star Hotel Ristorante Walser, just 150m from the ski lifts. For a hostel come school camp feel, the huge Casa di vacanza Giovanibosco has superb 4-bed bunk rooms and sparkling shared facilities (including a kitchen) just a few minutes’ walk from the ski lifts. Alternatively, the delightful B&B Casa Moni has simple rooms but a friendly, musical vibe, and just 250m from the ski lifts. Also in the village a host of cute, traditional homes & apartments for holiday rental.
Up on the mountain amongst the ski lifts & terrain, one of the resort’s main restaurants, Cabana GrossAlp, has rooms available for sneaky ski-in ski-out overnighters.
