Mavrovo Ski Resort North Macedonia
Mavrovo Zare Lazareski ski resort has possibly the best lifts & facilities in North Macedonia. The resort has a respectable 600m+ skiable vertical, 14 ski lifts & over 27km of piste trails. The only issue (and its a big one) is altittude. So if you had to pick between Mavrovo & Popova Sapka, the latter with about 500m higher lifted altitude probably wins in these warming times!

Surrounded by a national park of the same name, Mavrovo ski resort provides superb access to limitless backcountry ski touring & freeride terrain around Mt Korab (2,764m) on the border with Albania & the fourth highest peak in the Balkans. And that IS a reason to come here.
