Madrisa Ski Resort Switzerland
Madrisa ski resort in the Swiss Davos-Klosters region may be incredibly popular with families, but with terrain for everyone. Despite pedalling itself as a wonderful family skiing area (and it is!), Madrisa is an incredibly fun place to ski for advanced snow riders. Its huge skiable vertical of 1,478m is definitely worth checking out when in the region. Hell, you can even ski tour across the border into Austria and Gargellen and back again from here, so what's not too love.

Madrisa Accommodation
The accommodations available in Madrisa is in the town of Klosters which spread far enough across the valley that it has two local train stations! The convenient train station near its base (Klosters Dorf), means a visit to Madrisa is easy from other locations beyond Klosters including Davos, or in the opposite direction, the smaller villages of Küblis and Saas im Prättigau.
Just 1½km from central Klosters and a 250m stroll from the Madrisa gondola and valley trail is Klosters Dorf train station. Several good hotels are nearby, with the Hotel Silvapina a nice 3-star but note that the train does run right past it! Ask for a room on the opposite side. Perhaps better bets are at either the Madrisa Lodge or a little further away, the superb (and quiet!) Sunstar Hotel Klosters.
Despite its size, central Klosters retains the feel of a classic Swiss mountain village. In part that is simply due to the traditional architectural style used throughout the town, but it is also due to the Gotschnatunnel diverting all the through-traffic away from the centre of Klosters.
Klosters lacks the 5-star behemoth hotels of nearby Davos but still has a couple to choose from - the Royals have got to stay somewhere after all! Klosters main train station is Klosters Platz and is near the town centre. Opposite the train station is cable car up to Gotschnagrat (& Parsenn). There are a swag of good hotels to choose from nearby. The Seven Alpina Boutique Hotel has the prime position at Klosters Platz, close to everything. Not far away is the affordable Adventure Hostel for those with less coin. And yes, if you want to stay in a 5-star Grandy, try the well situated Hotel Vereina.

Review & More Info
The Powderhounds skied Madrisa recently and adored the fact that despite its 'family-friendly' advertising, the resort is even better for more advanced skiers & snowboarders. We will be returning in the coming season to enjoy its long, long descents. Click on the review link in the left column (or top of the page if on a mobile) to read all the reviews.
