Breckenridge has a huge range of accommodations and in excess of 20,000 guest beds. Breckenridge lodging includes hotels, condos, vacation homes, and bed and breakfasts. Recent years have seen the development of more luxury condos and hotels at Breckenridge, but unlike some of the nearby ski resorts, Breckenridge also has a good range of budget to moderate priced lodging. And unlike ski resorts such as Vail and Keystone, lots of the Breckenridge hotels and condos are ski-in ski-out.

With so many Breckenridge accommodations to choose from, the first decision is the right location. Locations can be broadly categorized into five areas: downtown Breckenridge, Breckenridge Mountain Village, Peak 9, Peak 8 and Peak 7.

Downtown Breckenridge Lodging

Downtown Breckenridge has some accommodations on Main Street and the surrounding streets in the form of affordable condos and hotels. Advantages of staying in downtown Breck include easy access to the shops and restaurants, and the nightlife that Breckenridge is famous for. It’s much easier to stumble home than to worry about catching a shuttle up the hill!

Most accommodations here are not ski-in ski-out. Properties towards the south end of town are within walking distance of the Quicksilver Super6 chair lift, whilst those towards the north have access to the BreckConnect gondola that goes up to Peak 7 and 8. And the aptly named Four O’Clock ski trail drops onto Park Ave so some lodgings in the center of town are only a short walk home. Regular free buses also provide transport between downtown areas and the ski slopes, and accommodations tend to be very close to the bus stops.

The Village at Breckenridge Resort Area

This zone surrounds the Peak 9 base area and is located adjacent to the Quicksilver Super6 chair lift. This region has ski school with learning areas for children, as well as child care. Essentially this location could be considered to be in the town of Breckenridge, so it has the best of both worlds; easy access to the action of downtown, as well as the convenience of being right near a lift.

Peak 9 Accommodations

A little further up the Peak 9 Mountain is a small collection of accommodations, which includes the large Beaver Run Resort. Beaver Run is located next to the Beaver Run Super Chair so it’s ski-in ski-out, and it also has the convenience of being situated adjacent to ski school and child care. Peak 9 has a large concentration of green runs, so this is a great place for beginner skiers and boarders to stay. Downtown Breckenridge is a 10-15 minute walk away, and the Beaver Run Resort has a regular shuttle bus service to connect the two areas.

Peak 8 Breckenridge Accommodation

The Peak 8 base area features One Ski Hill; a resort of ski-in ski-out accommodations. This area is very convenient to the slopes, ski school, and child care, and there are a few restaurants and other services in the area, otherwise you’ll want to head down to town. Downtown Breckenridge is not walking distance from Peak 8. During the day the two areas are connected by the BreckConnect gondola, and in the evenings One Ski Hill runs a shuttle service to and from town.

Peak 7 Lodging

The Peak 7 base area boasts the Crystal Peak Lodge. This location has similar pros and cons to Peak 8. It has fantastic access to the slopes (for intermediate riders and above) but there’s no ski school, child care, or village, so you’d want to head down to town at some stage. The BreckConnect gondola provides transport between town and Peak 7 during the day, whilst a shuttle service is used at night time.
