Beaver Run Resort

Beaver Run Resort

Beaver Run Resort and Conference Center Beaver Run is a large resort providing a range of accommodations, from hotel rooms to 1 or 2 bedroom suites, and speciality condos with up to 6 bedrooms. The standard of accommodation ranges from moderate up to luxurious.

Beaver Run has an incredibly convenient location, a large range of amenities, and it provides good value for money, particularly for small groups and families.

Where is the Beaver Run Resort Breckenridge? Beaver Run Resort is located near the base of Peak 9 at the Breckenridge Ski Resort, with convenient ski-in ski-out access. The Beaver Run Super Chair is located near various facilities such as a lift ticket office, a ski and snowboard rental shop, and ski school (some of the kids’ learning areas are just near the lift). The Quicksilver Super 6 chair is a short ski down a green run. This lift services even more beginners’ terrain.

Unlike many of the other ski-in ski-out accommodations at Breckenridge, Beaver Run is reasonably close to downtown Breckenridge, only a 10 to 15 minute walk down the hill. However you don’t need to walk because there is a free shuttle bus that provides regular transport to and from town.

The resort is large and the accommodations are housed in four different buildings. Building 4 is the most convenient to the slopes.

Accommodations Beaver Run has a range of accommodations:
  • Hotel rooms: two beds, small sitting area
  • Studio: one queen bed, one queen pull out, mini kitchen, jetted spa tub (building 4)
  • Colorado Suite: one queen bed, one queen pull out, mini kitchen, jetted spa tub, fireplace (building 4)
  • 1 bedroom suite/condo: one queen bed, one queen pull-out, full kitchen, fireplace, balcony
  • 2 bedroom suite/condo: one queen bed, one queen pull out, two queen beds in 2nd bedroom, full kitchen
  • Speciality luxury suites with up to 6 bedrooms

  • Heated indoor pool and outdoor pool
  • 7 hot tubs
  • Sauna and steam room, exercise room
  • Complimentary wireless internet in the front and back lobby, paid internet in rooms
  • Business center
  • Games arcade and mini golf
  • Covered parking for a fee
  • Beaver Run child care center
  • Town shuttle
  • The Spa at Beaver Run providing massage and beauty treatments
  • Ski lockers near the lift
  • On site ski shop
  • Skywalk Market selling basic groceries and souvenirs
  • Conference facilities
Dining & Bars Spencer’s Restaurant has an extensive dinner menu that ranges from casual fare such as burgers to quality steaks.

Base Nine Bar is the spot for a sophisticated cocktail whilst the Copper Top Bar and Restaurant is a really vibrant pub for après drinks or a simple feed. They have live music or a DJ and you can also sit out on the patio.

Skywalk Market sells coffee, sandwiches, pastries, soups and pizza, and can also deliver pizza to your room after 4pm.

Why Stay at the Beaver Run Resort? Beaver Run Breckenridge provides a very good standard of accommodation in a fabulous location. Sure there are other mid-mountain accommodations, but these are further from town and they have a luxury price tag, whereas Beaver Run is reasonably priced (particularly for the standard suites and for quad share). Many of the accommodations have kitchenettes or kitchens, so you can save money by self catering, or restaurants are easily accessible on-site or in downtown Breckenridge.

Beaver Run is super for kids because of the on-site swimming pools, hot tubs and the large games arcade. The proximity to child care, ski school, and a beginners’ ski area also contributes to the major family friendliness of Beaver Run Resort.

You Get What you Pay For

Beaver Run touts itself as a luxury resort. Hah! The condo we stayed in was rather old and far from luxurious. Relative to other places at Breckenridge, it doesn’t cost a fortune to stay here, so I guess it’s a case of you get what you pay for, although for a couple it was still pretty expensive.

This resort has some major pros. Its location is a major advantage, near the slopes and lots of other handy facilities such as ski hire and child care. Beaver Run has some major cons too.

The condos have adjoining rooms that seem to be connected with a piece of plywood so you there is no sound insulation, and you can hear absolutely every word that your neighbors are saying. This is not much fun at 3am! Not that we were sleeping much anyway because the bed was one of those cheap beds where the whole beds shakes when your partner rolls over. And it was a narrow double bed, not even a queen. I didn’t realize that any hotel in the 21st century would have a double bed.

We were checked in by a lass who wasn’t particularly helpful. She spoke for about thirty seconds at lightning speed and clearly didn’t care if we were catching on or not. We figured out where the parking was but that was about it. She also proudly gave us a voucher for dinner at Spencer’s where they offer a 20 percent discount on dinner for your first night and 10 percent on subsequent nights. They suck you into thinking this discount is for the whole bill but it's just for the food and not beverages. They then hit you with a 5 percent resort charge on top of the bill (for food AND alcohol), so in the end there’s no discount - you spend more money.

They also get you on the internet with a charge of $10 PER DEVICE per calendar day (not even per 24 hours) if you want internet access in your room.

Awesome Location

The location was extremely convenient to the slopes and a chair lift that generally only had short lift lines. Downtown Breckenridge was also pretty close and we were impressed with the ease of using the complementary shuttle.

We stayed in a one bedroom suite/condo and there was lots of space for the two of us. The condo could sleep up to 5 people (with a double sofa bed and single sofa bed in the living area), and with 5 people the pricing would be very inexpensive.

The condos are all individually owned so they vary a little with regards to décor, and some of the accommodations have been recently refurbished whilst others haven’t. Our suite had a very modern kitchen. Other parts were a little dated, but the accommodation was very functional.

We really liked the Copper Top bar; this was a very vibrant place to hang out for après drinks.

There are more luxurious ski-in ski-out accommodations at Breckenridge, but many of them are not near town, and you’ll pay a pretty penny for them. Beaver Run Resort provides very good value accommodation in a great location.
