Karakol Ski Base Accommodation

There are a few hotels at Karakol Ski Resort near the slopes. One example is the Kapriz Karakol Hotel which is rather overpriced for what you get. There are other ski resort lodging options, including self-contained cottages and chalets, and more being built.

Ski Paradise Karakol is located adjacent to the base of the ski resort. It offers guest rooms as well as suites with kitchenette for up to 8 guests, and dome tents.

ToodoResort is reasonably priced and offers hotel rooms as well as cottages. It’s located just down from the ski resort and experienced skiers can ski back to the accommodation, or staff can shuttle you to and from the ski resort.   

Whilst staying on-mountain provides the full snow experience and convenience of being close to the slopes, some of the accommodation can be very expensive by Kyrgyzstan standards. It is also rather isolated and dining options limited.

Town of Karakol Lodging

Many people choose to stay in the town of Karakol and drive up to the ski area each day, which provides the flexibility to also visit other attractions in the area. Other obvious advantages of staying in Karakol are access to a wide range of restaurants and shops, and the Karakol accommodation is very affordable, such that you’ll be hard pressed to spend much money even if you want to.

There are no 5 star Karakol hotels nor proper 4 star hotels. Various modern 3 star hotels are starting to pop up, and there are also plenty of guest houses, some hostels, and apartments. Or if you want to get right into the Kyrgyzstan culture, you can stay in yurts on the outskirts of town.
