Powderhounds Lodge

Powderhounds Lodge

Powderhounds Lodge features traditional Dinner Plain alpine architecture and is great for families and small groups. It has 2 bedrooms plus loft, 2 bathrooms, and sleeps up to 8, although it's most ideally suited to 4-5 guests sleeping in the 2 bedrooms.

The living area has rustic and cosy alpine décor that is typical of Dinner Plain with an open stone fireplace, exposed beams, and other natural timber features. Sit in front of the fire, or the oversized window seats/day beds are highly likely to lure you into complete relaxation mode!

You can bring your dog to Dinner Plain Village and Powderhounds Lodge is partially dog friendly. Your dog can stay in the heated foyer.

Where is Powderhounds Lodge?

Powderhounds Lodge is nestled at the end of a quiet laneway in Dinner Plain and the living area overlooks a reserve where the kids (or the big kids) can make a snowman or have a snowball fight during winter.

The house is situated off Halter Lane, only a 3-5 minute walk to the shops and restaurants, and a 5 minute walk to the Dinner Plain ski slope.

Dinner Plain is located 11km southeast of Mt Hotham. You can either drive to Mt Hotham, or the bus stops for the shuttle to Hotham are only a few minutes walk from the house.

Accommodation

The house sleeps a maximum of 8 people with 2 bedrooms and a loft with the following configuration:
  • The 1st bedroom on the 2nd floor has a queen bed
  • The 2nd bedroom on the 2nd floor has two single beds and a trundle single bed
  • The loft on the 3rd floor has 3 single beds, 2 narrow single mattresses for small children, & a chill out zone ideal for kids
  • Additional rates apply to open the loft

We had the most wonderful stay at the lodge. Conditions were perfect but even if they had not been, the lodge was warm and cosy and the beds were comfortable. The lodge was right next to a reserve for us to play in the snow and it was close to everything. We only had to walk five minutes to go tobogganing ( these were supplied by the lodge). The lodge had everything we needed and taking a bath after skiing was heavenly! Thank you for making this a most memorable family holiday in the snow - our first! We have already recommended the lodge to friends in Sydney for their family ski holiday!

Stayed at Powderhounds lodge recently and had a great stay. The lodge was nice and warm and very cosy. The living rooms were well laid out with plenty of room for 8-10 people.

I found the price per head per night great value and will recommend Powderhounds to all.
