Otaru accommodation provides very good value for money. The Otaru hotels mostly consist of western style hotels and there are also dormitory backpackers if you are travelling on a shoestring.

OMO5 Otaru is a lovely boutique 4 star hotel. It includes ski and snowboard rental equipment and a daily shuttles to Kiroro, Asarigawa Ski Resort and Snow Cruise Onze, and the bus stop to Otaru Tenguyama is a one minute walk away. The hotel is well located and just a few minutes walk to the Otaru canal and the main shopping street.

The Dormy Inn Premium is an Otaru hotel that is very nice, yet moderately priced, and it's located only one minute walk from the Otaru train station.

The Grand Park Otaru is a beautiful 4-star hotel which is located right on the water with views up and down the coast from one side, and views of the hills you'll be skiing on the side of the hotel. Below the hotel is a shopping centre. This Otaru hotel is surprisingly inexpensive considering the quality on offer. It’s about 2km from the main tourist district.
