Airport to Ski Resort Transfers - Switzerland

Even though the world class Swiss train system is the recommended mode of travel in Switzerland, private transfers offer the single most convenient, care -free & efficient way to ski resorts in Switzerland. Convenience does come at a cost, but if travelling in a group, the cost per person can be better than public transport. Cheaper shared shuttles are also available to several popular ski areas. They are great value but do generally have a more limited departure schedule. Note that some resorts are car-free & may require additional transport - e.g. Zermatt may require a train transfer for the last section of travel & Saas Fee may require a local electric taxi or hotel shuttle in town.

Swiss ski resorts are best accessed via Geneva (GVA) airport for resorts in the western half of the country & Zurich (ZRH) for those in the eastern half. The airport at Basel (BSL) can work as well, particularly for travellers from within Europe or the UK. The minor airport at Sion in the heart of the Valais is another possibility, but with only limited flights. Milan Malpensa (MXP) can be utilised for resorts across southern Switzerland including Andermatt, Airolo, St Moritz plus resorts in the Valais around Brig including Aletsch Arena.
