Getting To Panorama

By air: Calgary International Airport is the major gateway airport to Panorama, and is served by many major airlines. The other option is to fly into the new Canadian Rockies International airport which is near Kimberley and a 2 hour drive to Panorama. The flights generally originate from Calgary or Vancouver, but Delta airlines have also commenced flights from Salt Lake City.

Shuttle: If Panorama is your only ski destination, a car is not required and a shuttle service could be used from Calgary airport. The only problem is that the schedule is either irregular or charter services are very expensive. This goes via Banff.

The other option is to get a Greyhound bus from Calgary airport (or downtown Calgary) to Invermere, and then catch a taxi.

Private transfers are also available between Panorama and Cranbook, Kimberley, Canadian Rockies airport, Lake Louise, Fernie and Golden.

By Car from Calgary (or Banff) From Calgary, drive west on highway #1 (trans Canada Highway). When 30km past Banff, turn onto (the exit to Radium hot Springs) highway 93 which is the only major exit west of Banff. Follow signs to Radium Hot Springs. Arriving in Radium, turn left at the stop sign on highway 93/95 and follow the signs to Invermere for 15 minutes. Turn right at the traffic lights and follow the signs to Invermere and Panorama ski resort. The road up to Panorama goes for about 25 minutes, and then turn left over a bridge into the resort.

Getting Around Panorama

Once in Panorama a car is not required and it’s possible to walk around the village. Some of the paths are steep and don’t necessarily have steps, so wear sensible footwear. To get to the RK heliski base, it’s possible to walk but it’s a reasonable walk. RK provide an on-demand shuttle service for heliski clients or dining patrons for Choppers Landing.

A car may be useful to get in and out of Invermere on your own schedule. Otherwise it’s possible to catch a taxi or use the infrequent Valley Shuttle. Tickets can be purchased at Guest Services.
