Facilities & Services

9 Day British Columbia Ski Tour
The Kicking Horse village is fairly small, yet facilities and services at Kicking Horse are more than adequate considering the number of visitors.

Facilities for Children

The Kicking Horse Kids Club provides childcare for ages 18 months to 5 years for a full day or half day, and prices are very reasonable. For 3-5 year olds you can add on a private one hour ski lesson. The Kicking Horse child care centre is located at the base area, so it’s really easy to drop your child off and go skiing or snowboarding for the day.

Also at the base area is a small ice skating rink and tube park.

Kicking Horse Ski School

The mountain school has top notch instructors, so if you want to progress your skiing or snowboarding to ride the steeps, this is the place to learn.

In addition to standard ski and snowboard lessons, the Kicking Horse Snowsports School offers Big Mountain Clinics to explore the mountain and improve technique along the way, but these are pretty expensive.

Kids group lessons are for ages 6-12.

Ski and Snowboard Rental

The Performance Rental Center in Glacier Lodge provide a range of good quality ski and snowboard equipment rental. They also rent cross-country skis, snowshoes, and telemark skis, and have a full repair shop.

Eating On Mountain

At the top of the gondola is the amazing Eagle’s Eye restaurant. Resting atop a rugged ridge, the views from the restaurant are fabulous. The terrace out the back affords even better opportunities to appreciate the vistas. As well as an optical delight, the restaurant is a gourmet treat. Lunch options are a little more simple than dinner cuisine, but nevertheless superb.

The Heaven’s Door Yurt near the base of the Stairway to Heaven chair is open over lunch hours for a casual lunch or quick snack. The outdoor fire pit is a good place to warm up.

At the base there is a small day lodge for self-serve cafeteria fare or you can head to the Peaks Grill for pub fare. Just opposite the gondola is the Double Black Café which is the highlight of the base daytime dining options. The café serves amazing coffee, great breakfast options and beautiful lunches.

Considering some of the Kicking Horse accommodation is ski-in ski-out, there is also the opportunity to just have lunch in your condo, and enjoy the previous night’s leftovers.
