Getting To Powder Mountain

Driving: From Salt Lake City, take I-15 North to Ogden's 12th Street exit and then follow the signs through Ogden Canyon. From Park City, take I-80 East to I-84 junction, then West on I-84 to exit 96 and follow the signs. If you’re using a GPS, beware that not all systems know where Powder Mountain is, and even if you enter Eden as the destination, the GPS may try to take you there via a road that is closed during winter. Don’t place full faith in the GPS! The Powder Mountain road is pretty steep by Utah standards, so all-wheel-drive and good tyres are recommended.

Shuttle: There are various private transportation companies that provide airport shuttles, but many people prefer to hire a car and have the flexibility to get around at their own pace.

Getting Around

For those who don’t want to drive up the mountain, there is a parking lot in Eden near the supermarket from which shuttle buses depart. They also leave from Red Moose Lodge, Moose Hollow, and Wolf Lodge accommodations. The last bus down leaves from the Sundown area only, so don’t stay up at the village at après past 5pm.

To get around to the various Ogden Valley restaurants, the only flexible option is to self-drive. If you don’t have a GPS, most accommodation places will be able to provide a tourist map of the area.
