Silver King Hotel

Silver King Hotel

The Silver King Hotel in Park City has self-contained studios as well as 1 to 3 bedroom condos. The Silver King Park City is located right near the main base of the Park City Mountain Resort, so it’s an ideal location for families with kids that are heading to group ski lessons or the beginner slopes. Others will also equally enjoy the convenience of Park City accommodations close to the ski area.

Where is the Silver King Hotel?

The address of Silver King Hotel is 1485 Empire Ave, Park City. It backs onto Lowell Avenue so when you walk out the back of the property, the main plaza of the Park City ski resort is only 0.1 miles walk away. At the ski resort base area, there are ski and snowboard rental shops, ski school and lift ticket sales.

Historic Main Street in downtown Park City is 0.7 miles away, and there is a public bus stop right out the front of the hotel if you want to catch the bus to get there. The hotel also provides a complimentary on-demand shuttle service.

Studios and Condos

There are two standards of suites. Standard suites have clean and comfortable accommodations, and older furnishings and décor may be present. Deluxe suites have upscale furnishings and fixtures, flat screen TVs in the living area (and master bedroom) and deluxe bedding.

  • 1 Bedroom Condo: 1 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, sleeps 4, bedding varies (also option for spa)

  • 3 Bedroom Penthouse: 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sleeps 8, bedding varies
Each studio and condo has a dining and living area with fireplace (wood burning), double-wide jetted baths (in most condos), and a full kitchen. Other features include a washer and dryer, and iron and ironing board.

Dining

Each suite and condo is self-contained so you can eat in the comfort of your accommodations, or there are a few dining options at the base of the ski resort including a pub, bar and grill, and inexpensive Mexican restaurant. Well Located

03/07/2015
This Park City condo hotel has some major pluses. Whilst not ski-in ski-out, it’s in a very easy location, just a short walk across the parking lot from the slopes. And with public buses and the shuttle service (or some legs), it was very easy to get into the historic district of town.

We stayed in a studio suite that was reasonably modern and nicely decked out. Overall it was very good. It was somewhat pricy for 2 people, but it was very very spacious and we would have got more value if we’d used the kitchen (which had a huge fridge but only basic utensils). We wanted to use the laundry facilities in the condo but no washing powder was provided, they didn’t sell any at the front desk, and the supermarket was a decent walk away. The hotel facilities were a big plus with convenient parking, ski lockers, and swimming pool.

Sleep quality wasn’t ideal as the heater was noisy, the bed bouncy and the blind slats didn’t fully close, but I guess if we’d stayed in one of the deluxe condos we wouldn’t have had this problem. Another con was the service or the lack thereof. When we checked in (and throughout our stay), the front desk guy was not forthcoming with any information and only when we asked a few questions could we pry a little bit of info out of him.

The Silver King is a good choice if you don’t have the budget for flashy slopeside accommodations, and you want a convenient location, a kitchen and spacious living areas.
