El Colorado Restaurants & Bars

El Colorado Restaurants

Some of the apart hotels at El Colorado have their own restaurant and bar, and with meals included in many of the accommodation packages, many people choose not to venture out at night time. Ditto for those self-catering in their apartments.

So it’s not surprising that El Colorado has very limited options for restaurants and bars in the evening and the nightlife is rather tranquil. Conversely down in Farellones the nightlife is sometimes pumping!

El Colorado has lots of eateries open for daytime fare, either up on the mountain or down in the village.

For something a little more formal, El Alambique Restaurante above El Parador cafeteria is a good spot for lunch. The fare here is varied and includes fondues, salads, steaks, seafood, and yummy postres. The restaurant has tables out on the verandah - a perfect spot to watch the many racers flying down the hill. The international flavour of the ski resort is supported by the flags of many different countries adorned around the place. The restaurant doubles as a bar and evening restaurant, and many of the racers gather here for a quiet drink to compare bruises.

Lunch is also available at Cadaques Restaurante at the Colorado Apart Hotel. There are many options on the lunch menu that can be accompanied by a huge range of drinks from the bar. The décor of the restaurant and bar is old fashioned but very cozy, especially on a cold day when the fireplaces are cranking out the heat. The deck outside is the perfect setting for sunny days, and the friendly service of the staff adds to the enjoyable experience.

Down in Farellones there are a few more options for evening restaurants including El Montanes, Posada (lunch only for non hotel guests), and Montanita Lodge.

El Colorado Bars & Nightlife

There is a little bit of an après and nightlife scene at El Colorado and Farellones. Sometimes it goes off, but particularly at El Colorado, the vibe at the bars is typically on the mellow side. The pick of the bunch at El Colorado is the bar at El Parador building.

The bars at Farellones are generally more vibrant than those at El Colorado at both après time and into the evening. The slope-side bar at El Montanes in Farellones is a great place.

Après can be spent outside watching the stragglers returning from the slopes. The indoor section of the bar is sometimes very relaxed and at others the music has the place pumping.
