Private Lessons - Furano & Surrounding Areas

Make the most of your time in the Furano area and have the best experience on the mountain by improving your skills with a Whiteroom private ski or snowboard lesson.

A privately instructed lesson lets you go one-on-one or in small private groups of up to 4 per instructor.

Kids under 5 will require their own private instructor for 1 to 1 tuition. Skiers and snowboarders cannot be mixed in a group.

Whiteroom can tailor the day to either discover a new sport, improve your skills and technique, gain confidence on piste or in powder, and explore more of the mountain to make the most of your time.

If you feel you've already explored Furano, your instructor can take you to a nearby ski resort for more terrain variety. If you want to learn to ski or snowboard powder or refine your powder technique, the instructor will be able to take you to spots with the highest likelihood of finding fresh powder.

The start time of the day is flexible and the instructor can meet you at your lift of choice or pick you up at your accommodation and drop you off at the end of the day.

Book one or more days for yourself as private lessons or with your group of up to 4. PLEASE NOTE - These lessons are for PRIVATE GROUPS of up to 4 guests only i.e. you cannot join a group.

Advanced bookings are essential because these Furano ski lessons book out well ahead of time. You can make a booking request to check about availability for your preferred dates.

Other Destinations

These PRIVATE GROUP day lessons can go to any of the following ski areas.

Furano

Furano has some of the best quality snow in Hokkaido all season long. With terrain to suit all abilities from long wide groomers to great tree skiing. From the resort you have spectacular views up the valley lined by the mountains in Daisetsuzan National Park (meaning great snowy mountains) on a clear day.

Kamui Ski Links

One of Hokkaido’s best ski areas, located just outside Asahikawa and 1hour from Furano, Kamui offers beautiful long wide groomers perfect for all abilities, along with great off piste areas for intermediate to advanced. Combined with very little crowds, great snow and lots of blue bird weather days, there is something here for everyone.

Tomamu

Boasting 29 fantastic groomed runs for beginners to experts set among the beautiful trees and mountains, Tomamu also offers skiers and boarders an awesome park and off-piste section which is roped off from the rest of the crowd. An extremely user and family friendly resort.

Sahoro

Located in a similar direction and time frame as Tomamu from Furano, Sahoro feels like your private ski resort on most days. With long groomed trails for all abilities and some lovely gladed tree areas, Sahoro is the perfect area to improve your technique while experiencing another of Central Hokkaido’s quality resorts.

Whiteroom Tours Terms & Conditions

If you booked a certain ski resort and the lifts are shut that day we will offer up another resort. If all available resort options are closed we will try to reschedule another day (if available), or offer you a full refund.

Guide Bookings Confirmation & Payment Cancellation Policy

Please note that Guide bookings are NOT CONFIRMED until a 20% deposit has been paid. Final balance is due 30 days prior to the start of your booking. You must complete our booking form and Registration/Waiver from before your guided day. Failure to do so will result in the cancelation of your booking. Guide Bookings Cancellation Policy Your 20% deposit is non-refundable unless we cancel the guided day due to unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather or guide injury. Whiteroom Guides will refund your full payment less the 20% deposit if notice is given 30 days prior to your booking date commencement. Whiteroom Guides will refund 50% of your full payment if less than 30 days but more than 7 days notice of cancellation is given. Whiteroom Guides will provide no refund for cancellations less than 7 days prior or a no show on your booked day. If Whiteroom Guides has to cancel your guided day due to adverse weather or other unforeseen circumstances you will be offered another date or a 100% refund.

Backcountry Safety Equipment Requirements

Backcountry safety equipment is compulsory for all participants on any guided day. All of the necessary equipment (transceiver, shovel, probe and backpack) is available to hire. Please advise us if you need this equipment when booking. You may also bring your own gear to use. If your Backcountry trip requires Alpine Touring equipment, split boards or snowshoes we will advise & recommend where the equipment can be rented from if you do not already have your own.

Pre Purchasing Lift Tickets

For day trips we recommend against purchasing lift tickets in advance, as there are no additional cost savings. Pre-purchasing lift tickets may only serve to limit your flexibility. Due to localized weather patterns, conditions can often be much different at nearby resorts & may influence the final destination decision.

Extra transportation charges

Greater Furano or Niseko area (outside of Hirafu and immediate surrounds and outside of Furano and immediate surrounds) requiring approximately one hour extra travel – client pays ¥10,000 extra. For example picking up in Rusutsu and taking to Kiroro. For Asahikawa pick-ups then on to Asahidake or Kamui/Pipu it is 2 hrs extra travel on top of 3hrs regular driving to Asahidake. 5hrs of driving plus guiding = a very long day. If clients are staying in Asahikawa clients they will be charged and extra ¥10,000 and must also pay for the guides accommodation either before or after the guided day.
