The ski guides/photographers we hired for our engagement at Rusutsu Resort were absolutely incredible. They struck the perfect balance between challenging us to explore terrain just outside our comfort zone and ensuring we felt safe and confident throughout the day. Their communication and deep knowledge of the mountain made the experience seamless and enjoyable.

Despite being intermediate skiers, my fiancé and I ended up with some truly stunning photos, thanks to their expert guidance and knack for capturing cool action shots. For the proposal itself, they went above and beyond. Although the weather didn’t allow for a Mt. Yotei backdrop, they found a magical spot among the trees, surrounded by sasa grass and fresh powder, creating an intimate and beautiful setting.

We couldn’t have asked for a better team to help make our special day so memorable. Highly recommend!

Our day skiing at Rusutsu was nothing short of spectacular! From start to finish, Austin's expertise and enthusiasm elevated our experience .

Even though snow conditions weren´t great,(we were adviced this wasn´t the best place to ride on that specific day, our bad) Austin's knowledge of the slopes and the best routes ensured we made the most of our time on the mountain. He effortlessly guided us through hidden gems that we wouldn't have discovered on our own.

But it doesn´t finish there, our guide drove us to a local onsen and okonomiyaki place for dinner where we could felt part of the unique Japanese culture in Hokkaido.

We booked two full days with Sea and Summit Media late February and I am coming back next season for more.

Cannot recommend Sea and Summit as a guide company enough! Chad was super knowledgeable about all the hidden gems in the out of bounds areas of the resort. I doubt we would have been able to find most of the spots ourselves, but Chad was getting us into glorious powder runs right from the start and all day. Our last run of the day was still deep powder with almost no tracks, amazing! His photography was also right on point too, he definitely knows how to capture peak powder spray on all your turns and make you look as good as possible for those social media posts, and making your friends as jealous as possible back home haha. Well worth the money spent to not have to figure things out ourselves, it definitely took our first Japan snowboarding trip to the next level!

Chad and the guys at SSM, showed my group why it’s called Japowdah! Hitting the side country for fresh, deep tracks….on almost every run is something I’ll never forgot. All the while taking photos that made me look like I should be in a publication.
