The guides were outstanding—knowledgeable, experienced, and clearly passionate about what they do. They took us into some amazing terrain that we never would have found on our own, all while making safety a top priority. Their ability to read conditions and tailor each day to the group made a huge difference and gave us total confidence out there.

What really set the experience apart was the personal touch. It never felt like a generic, one-size-fits-all tour. Instead, it felt customized to our group, our pace, and what we wanted to get out of the trip. That level of attention made it feel special from day one.

The full-service approach was also incredible—everything was seamless from the slopes all the way back to our front door. Transportation, logistics, gear support—every detail was handled, which made the entire trip stress-free and enjoyable.

Overall, it was an amazing experience that exceeded expectations in every way. We would absolutely do it again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a world-class backcountry snowboarding adventure in Japan.. thank you thank you thank you… You will see us all soon.

Thanks to Chadd and his whole team for an amazing experience . Our guide Andy metnus at our place bright and early each morning to transport us to the mountain. They were diligent with providing the right safety gear, making sure we knew how to operate gear, and making sure that all gear was in working order. On the mountain, I felt like we were just skiing with one of our boys who had all the knowledge of the sick lines and where to take us to find the best stashes. Andy was also pro at taking pics without disrupting the flow of our riding. Kate joined us on the second day to do some videoing, amd she was another absolute pleasure to have around. She’s another absolute ripper and skilled photographer. I can’t recommend Sea and Summit collective enough. Worth every penny and a very reasonable price at that

My friends and I (5 Males in their 50’s), all ripping snowboarders from the Vail Valley in Colorado,USA, had high expectations going to Japan. Having fun and ripping sweet Pow was our number one priority. Chadd (the owner) and his team at Sea Summit Media were great for the following reasons.
1. Safety was paramount, our crew were outfitted with high end avalanche gear and beacons all checked in the beginning of each day.
2. They knew all the coolest and dopest lines, whether on or off the resort.
3. They took professional grade pics and movies of our team.
4. They are super cool, high vibed people, had lots of fun.

I had an amazing experience with Sea Summit Media in Niseko. From the very beginning, Chaddo was incredibly friendly and organized, handling everything smoothly starting from the booking process. He made sure every detail was taken care of and constantly checked in to make sure I was having the best possible time.

My guide Andrew was exceptional. He is a very professional and safety focused guide, but also an incredibly talented photographer. He made me feel completely safe in all conditions while keeping the energy high and the stoke level up all day. The combination of guiding and capturing epic shots made the experience unforgettable.

Hands down, one of the best teams in Niseko. Highly recommend.

My boy Andrew was a homie. Who would have thought a Scottish lad could know Hokkaido's backcountry so well. For those looking for steep and deep lines out of bounds and secret stashes inbounds, I couldn't recommend this enough. If you are an advanced skiier/boarder this is definitely what you are looking for. We not only found some magical floaty tree lines but we also found some really big hits large enough to flip off of which made for some sick shots.

We considered paying for a traditional backcountry AT guide away from the resort but after doing this, we are so much more thankful we chose to do a guided trip off piste of a resort. We got way more lines in and had the same access to backcountry zones.

We also weren't originally looking for photography but the shots turned out so rad. Not the cheesy shots you see from other guides. Andrew made us look way cooler than we are.

Sea & Summit Media provided my family of 7 skiers (age 23-60) with guides for three days in Niseko. We were able to navigate all four mountains with plenty of off-piste skiing that matched the vast range of abilities and interests in our group. We were able avoid crowded areas and take advantage of great dining facilities each day. Our primary guide, Yugi Fujiyama, was hospitable and helpful by monitoring our energy levels during the day. He is also a professional photographer who captured great moments of our once-in-a-lifetime family vacation.

Billy was excellent at finding good opportunities for shots and knew the mountain like the back of his hand. Adapted well with a group of mixed abilities and made sure we were all safe and having fun. Took some absolutely epic pics as well.

It wasn't the perfect day for a lift-accessed backcountry tour because the top lifts were closed due to high winds, which meant there were long queues at the lower lifts. However, with Advaita's knowledge of the local area, we had some fantastic riding and got some awesome shots. Our only regret was not being able to book another day when the upper lifts were open and the fresh pow came.

From the moment I reached out to book my adventure, Chad made the entire reservation and coordination process a breeze. The ski guides/photographers we hired for our engagement at Rusutsu Resort were absolutely incredible. They struck the perfect balance between challenging us to explore terrain just outside our comfort zone and ensuring we felt safe and confident throughout the day. Their communication and deep knowledge of the mountain made the experience seamless and enjoyable.

Despite being intermediate skiers, my fiancé and I ended up with some truly stunning photos, thanks to their expert guidance and knack for capturing cool action shots. For the proposal itself, they went above and beyond. Although the weather didn’t allow for a Mt. Yotei backdrop, they found a magical spot among the trees, surrounded by sasa grass and fresh powder, creating an intimate and beautiful setting.

We couldn’t have asked for a better team to help make our special day so memorable. Highly recommend!

Sickest experience.

Chad and Austin sorted us out from before we left Aus and made it super easy to sort all the gear we needed and organise the tour.

Not having been to Niseko before, having a guide who rips and knew all the right spots for the conditions, also tailoring them specifically to our group was such a game changer. Austin was an absolute lord too and it felt like we’d known him for years, right off the rip.

Photos were so sick and have gone in forever folder in the hard drive, pro level shots and didn’t slow the riding down at all.

100% booking again for this year to open up more terrain and push our riding in the Niseko area! 🙌🏼

I recently had the pleasure of embarking on the Guided Photography Tour in Central Hokkaido, and it was an experience beyond my highest expectations. Agustin, our instructor and guide, was simply amazing.

From the very start, Agustin's expertise was evident. He knew every single spot in Central Hokkaido, guiding us to hidden gems and breathtaking locations that we would have never found on our own. His intimate knowledge of the area allowed us to capture the most stunning landscapes and unique scenes, showcasing the true beauty of Hokkaido.

As an instructor, Agustin was unparalleled. He was patient, thorough, and incredibly skilled at teaching. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced photographer, his personalized guidance ensured that everyone in the group learned valuable techniques and improved their photography skills. His passion for photography was infectious, making the learning process both enjoyable and inspiring.

But what truly set this tour apart were the amazing photos we were able to capture. Our day skiing at Rusutsu was nothing short of spectacular! From start to finish, Austin's expertise and enthusiasm elevated our experience .

Even though snow conditions weren´t great,(we were adviced this wasn´t the best place to ride on that specific day, our bad) Austin's knowledge of the slopes and the best routes ensured we made the most of our time on the mountain. He effortlessly guided us through hidden gems that we wouldn't have discovered on our own.

But it doesn´t finish there, our guide drove us to a local onsen and okonomiyaki place for dinner where we could felt part of the unique Japanese culture in Hokkaido.

We booked two full days with Sea and Summit Media late February and I am coming back next season for more.

Cannot recommend Sea and Summit as a guide company enough! Chad was super knowledgeable about all the hidden gems in the out of bounds areas of the resort. I doubt we would have been able to find most of the spots ourselves, but Chad was getting us into glorious powder runs right from the start and all day. Our last run of the day was still deep powder with almost no tracks, amazing! His photography was also right on point too, he definitely knows how to capture peak powder spray on all your turns and make you look as good as possible for those social media posts, and making your friends as jealous as possible back home haha. Well worth the money spent to not have to figure things out ourselves, it definitely took our first Japan snowboarding trip to the next level!

Chad and the guys at SSM, showed my group why it’s called Japowdah! Hitting the side country for fresh, deep tracks….on almost every run is something I’ll never forgot. All the while taking photos that made me look like I should be in a publication.

We had an amazing day. It started with a prompt pickup time at our stay, an awesome van ride equipped to fit 6 people and all gear for the day to visit a new mountain, Kiroro. He was full of knowledge about the area, stopped for us when we needed to grab food for the day and took us to a local ice cream shop. The best part was the untouched pow. We would not have known the right place to go to get to all of the freshies but he took us right to them. I plan to return and go on this tour again! 10/10 recommend

What an epic day we had with Chad! We made him work for us a little with a mixed skill level group of 3. Myself and my wife snowboard and are comfortable in most terrain and our sister skis great in groomers but never had done full off piste type skiing. Chad knew exactly where to start and how to make it work for her but keep my wife and myself entertained. After our sister got tired Chad snuck us into some less travelled zones and really opened our eyes to what Niseko can offer.

We scored some rad photos we will cherish for a lifetime and tons of fresh powder.

This will become a guaranteed addition to every one of our trips to Niseko in the future. Consummate professionalism with an understanding of people, rider skills and the terrain.

Cannot wait to get back and do it again. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

We had the best time on this tour. We kicked ourselves after for not booking more in advance for the entirety of our trip. We found hidden powder runs we wouldn’t have found otherwise - got epic photos and videos and had an awesome time exploring different mountains we probably wouldn’t have known to go to.

We LOVED having a guide showing us where to go and the best place to catch the powder. Was so nice to have someone do all the work and tell us some local info about Japan and the area along the way. Thanks for helping us have amazing memories and my first REAL jaPOW experience! Can’t wait to come back but in the meantime I’ll just be staring at the awesome photos & video you took of us :) thanks!!!

3 of us booked “Braddah” Chad for a Japan excursion to Furano. It was my 8th journey to Hokkaido but it was my friends first time. I can say without a doubt that if you have never been to Japan, he will take care of you. Transportation, translation (except for the time we wanted to try Raccoon, inside joke. Ask him about it 🤔😂), photography, food. Especially food. All the hidden gems he has scouted out already. No thinking, no googling. Just show up and have a damn good time. Oh, did I mention the JAPOW. He sniffs it out like a truffle pig!

We had an absolute blast with Bianca on the photography tour! We have been skiing in Niseko for 15 years but Bianca still managed to unveil some seriously cool photo spots that caught us off guard. Getting teenagers to pose for family pics is usually a mission impossible, but Bianca cracked the code by turning the whole thing into a fun activity.

Our teens were totally onboard during the tour. Despite the weather not playing nice, Bianca worked her magic, and the pics turned out even better than expected. We're absolutely loving them! If you're looking to bring a slice of Niseko home with you, definitely check out the photography tour. Highly recommend! 📸🏂
