My wife and I booked two private half day lessons with Ride Shiga. Victor was really accommodating and really friendly. We are beginners, having only skied once before a few years ago, after a half day lesson then, and Victor was able to remind us of what we'd learnt and get us back up to our previous level - and that was just on day one.

On day two he was able to take us to different runs to work on different routines, and whenever an exercise wasn't working for one of us, he would give an alternative method to work on the skill.
By the end we were able to get a bit of parallel skiing - to our surprise.

Would definitely go with Ride Shiga again, and really want to compliment Victor on his expertise and teaching style.

If it’s your first time to Shiga Kogen I highly recommend ride Shiga to guide you through the 16 resorts we skied in one day. Lucy was our guide and showed us the all over the mountains in the 6 hours we skied and stopping at a great spot for lunch , without her we wouldn’t have had the amazing experience and seen everything we saw. Definitely worth the money.

I had a wonderful time learning to ski at Shiga Kogen and wanted to share my appreciation for the team.

- Seamless Booking: The entire booking process was incredibly smooth and hassle-free. From the initial inquiry to the final confirmation, everything was handled efficiently, making the logistics of the trip much easier to manage.
- Excellent Instruction: A huge shout-out to our instructor, Karol. He was fantastic! He was patient, professional, and had a great way of breaking down techniques. 2 days and in total of 6 hours lessons sounds not much and indeed we love to have more time to learn too!
-Fun & Progressive Learning: The lessons were the perfect balance of fun and challenge. We had a very progressive learning experience, moving from basic movements to feeling much more confident on the slopes by the end of our time.

I highly recommend this school to anyone looking to improve their skiing in Shiga Kogen Central. We can’t wait to come back!

We were able to seamlessly book private lessons from the U.S. the staff was responsive and answered every possible question, from ski rental to lesson type to transportation logistics. My sons had an amazing time on the mountain, one with two days of private beginner lessons and one with one day of powder guiding. The boys loved the every minute and the novice skier improved by leaps and bounds. What a gorgeous place to ski. JaPow lives up to its reputation. Shout out to the guides/instructors—Carol, Felix & Lucy. We fully recommend Ride Shiga!

Big thank you to Ivan at Ride Shiga for teaching me to snowboard in 3 days at the amazing Shiga Kogen ski resort. I was very nervous to switch from my skis to a board but I didn't need to worry in the safe hands of Ivan. He was a really supportive teacher, quickly recognising my learning preferences and switching his approach to keep me challenged but feeling safe. By day 4 I was pretty comfortable going solo on the slopes. Highly recommend booking in with Ride Shiga!

My two sons 14 and 10 had two half day private lessons with Genero.
They really enjoyed themselves and Genero was very kind to them. They both felt that he helped them with their skills and they improved after their time with him.
I would highly recommend Ride Shiga if visiting Shiga Kogen.

Booking the ski lessons was fairly straightforward and Ride Shiga kept us up to date via email.

Our ski instructor Hannah was excellent and so patient with our 7 year old son who had several melt downs when getting frustrated with learning to ski. By the end of the three hours Hannah had both our children (aged 7 and 10) stopping and also starting to get the hang of turning.

We mentioned we were going to see the snow monkeys afterwards, and Hannah offered to drop us there on her way back to Yudanaka which was greatly appreciated.
