Otaru Snowsports Lessons
Otaru Adventure offer ski and snowboard lessons at the ski areas near Otaru in Hokkaido. You can choose from group snowboard lessons at Kiroro (ages 13+), 1:1 lessons for small children, and private ski and snowboard lessons at various Otaru ski areas.

Private Lessons
Private ski or snowboard lessons are for your group of 1-5 participants.
The instructors will tailor the lesson specifically to your needs to improve your technique and help and make the most of your time in Hokkaido. Choose from 4, 5 or 6 hours of tuition (6 hours + 1 hour break), with the latter being ideal for those who are physically strong and want to maximise their snow time. Whilst the default option is to meet on-snow, there is limited availability for help with transport to and from your hotel for full-day lessons.
Night lessons for 2 or 3 hours are also an option at Kiroro.
For full day lessons you can request transport between your accommodation in Otaru or Kiroro and the ski area.
You can book a private lesson for you children. The minimum ages are 3 for skiing and 7 for snowboarding.

Ski and snowboard lessons can occur at the following ski areas near Otaru:
Kiroro;
Sapporo Kokusai;
Tenguyama;
Onze; or
Asarigawa Onsen.
Snowboard Group Lessons - Adults
Snowboard group lessons are conducted at Kiroro. These small groups of a maximum of six guests per instructor ensure a quality experience. Group lessons are four hours long, starting at 09:30 at the Kiroro Mountain centre with a one hour break. They finish at 14:30. These group lessons are for beginners to intermediates and the minimum age is 13.
If you are the only person attending the group lesson, you will be upgraded to a 2 hour morning private lesson, with the option to extend to a 4 or 5 hour private lesson.

1:1 Mini Lessons
For kids aged 2 to 5 for skiing, and 5 to 6 for snowboarding, these 1 to 1 introductory lessons are for 45 minutes at either 0900 or 1515. These are available at Kiroro. The cost is 15,000 yen per lesson.
