Mt Hutt Accommodation

There is no accommodation on-mountain at Mt Hutt. The nearest main town is Methven which is a 30-40 minute drive away.

Methven is a quiet country town compared to the touristy hustle and bustle of Queenstown and Wanaka. It is situated a one hour drive from Christchurch, so it is easy to access directly from Christchurch airport.

Methven Accommodation Options

In the moderate budget range, Methven has a good variety of B&Bs, lodges and apartment style accommodation options.

A stand-out is Mt Taylor Lodge which has smart and stylish accommodation in private rooms with ensuite. It’s well located and the host can provide lots of useful tips regarding the ski areas.

Terrace Downs

An alternative to Methven is the golf resort village of Terrace Downs. Here you will find a variety of villas set amongst the golf-course with spectacular views across the valley towards Mt Hutt. It is about 30 mins drive from Terrace Downs to Mt Hutt and from here you can also access other great ski areas nearby.
