Where is Ryuoo Ski Park?

Ryuoo Ski Resort is located on the slopes of Mt Ryuo in the Yamanouchi region, about 37km northeast of Nagano in the northern part of the Nagano Prefecture. It’s about 10km from the town of Yudanaka (a 20 minute drive).

Train and Bus To Ryuo

There are a few ways to get to the resort via public transport, yet some of them require a little negotiation of the bus schedules.

You can get a bullet train to Nagano, then a bus to the resort (approx. 80 minutes). Or alternatively get a train onto Yudanaka (check Hyperdia for routes, timetables and fares) and a free shuttle bus to the resort (3 each day).

There’s also a bus from Iiyama Shinkansen train station which is free on weekdays. 

Driving to Ryuoo Ski Park

Driving is the easiest way to get there and also provides flexibility to visit the many other ski resorts in the region.

The last part of the drive is windy and a little hilly, and snow tyres with 4WD or chains are required.
