The
Hachimantai Panorama Ski Area is located in the
Iwate Prefecture, 36km southeast of the city of
Morioka and 13km southwest of the town of
Hachimantai.
Driving to Panorama Hachimantai Resort
Driving to Panorama will provide the most flexibility to also visit other
Iwate ski resorts or to drive to the Matsukawa Onsen village.

rent a car at Morioka train station, or the Aomori train station if you’re including some of the
Aomori ski resorts on your road trip.
Train & Bus to Panorama
Or if you’re just visiting Hachimantai Resort Panorama, you could get a bullet train to Morioka then transfer to the Hanawa train line to go to Obuke Station (see Japan Travel Navitime for routes, fares and timetables). From Obuke train station there are buses that take 30 minutes to get to Panorama.
Or for guests of the
Hachimantai Mountain Hotel, a once daily free shuttle bus runs from Morioka train station to the hotel. Reservations 3 days prior to your stay are required.
