Geneva Airport (GVA) to Ski Resort Transfers

Geneva Airport (GVA) in the far west of Switzerland is one of the busiest in Europe during the ski season. Genève airport provides the flight gateway for all the ski resorts in the cantons of Valais (Aletsch Arena, Crans Montana, Grimentz Zinal, Portes du Soleil - French & Swiss sectors, Saas Fee, Verbier & Zermatt), Vaud (Leysin, Villars-Gryon), & Bern (Gstaad, Interlaken, Jungfrau Ski Region). Additionally, Geneva is a key airport for many of the major French Alps ski regions including Chamonix & the Tarentaise valley), plus the Aosta valley in Italy.

Transport links from the airport are excellent by train & bus, particularly to places like Champery, Chamonix, Verbier & Zermatt. Private transfers from the airport direct to your hotel at the ski resort may suit a range of ski travellers. Distances & travel times by road from Geneva to the major French ski areas around Chamonix & the Portes du Soleil are a little over an hour, making a direct transfer quick & financially efficient, particularly if in a group. The major resorts in the Tarentaise valley (3 Valleys, Les Arcs, Tignes, Val d’Isere etc.) are between 2 to 3hr drive from Geneva. In Switzerland the likes of Gstaad, Verbier & the Jungfrau are less than 2hr by road. In Italy, the Aosta valley resort of Courmayeur is a paltry 1½hr drive from Geneva airport, but will have a ‘cost penalty’ due to a transit of the expensive Mont Blanc Tunnel.
