Where to Stay Near Balme Tour Vallorcine

The ski domain is of Balme Tour Vallorcine is at the far eastern end of the Chamonix Valley, about 12km from central Chamonix. The ski area has two quite contrasting villages at either end of its ski lifts. In the Chamonix valley, Le Tour is an incredibly restful, quiet traditional village a world away from the people & noise of Chamonix. At its other end, near the Swiss border, Vallorcine is also quiet, and derspite its distance away from just about everywhere else in the Chamonix valley, has some of the most affordable lodgings, often with last-minute availability.

Le Tour Ski Accommodation

To ski or snowboard Balme, a string of mountain villages can be utilised for accommodation. The obvious village in the Chamonix valley is Le Tour. It is one of the quietest in the area & the most pleasant to stay in if seeking to avoid all the hoopla of the larger villages. Hotels are non-existant but some delightful holiday rental chalets & apartments can do the trick if keen to stay here.

Vallorcine Ski Accommodation

Vallorcine is not technically in the Chamonix valley but is connected to it via the gondola up into Balme ski domain, the train line to Chamonix, and the road over Col du Montets. There is some very well-priced accommodation in the village, with excellent facilities including pools & spas. Away from the larger commercial offerings, a number of chalets are available for holiday rental. In mid-winter the sun only appears for a short while in the village and there are few other services on offer. Check out our recommendations below.
