Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn Activities

As expected in any self-respecting Austrian ski resort, non-skiers are well catered for in other winter activities at Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn.

Nordic Skiing

Nordic skiing opportunities in the Skicircus are limited near Saalbach Hinterglemm to the trail up valley toward Lindlingalm. Greater opportunities for cross country skiing are near Fieberbrunn, where a lengthy network extends down to Hochfilzen.

Winter Walking Trails

Over 140km of winter walking trails (winterwanderweg) are maintained in the Skicircus Saalbach ski resort. Most of the trails are in the Saalbach Hinterglemm valley. Some of the better walks include up to the Spielberghaus above Saalbach, up to the Rosswaldhaus above Hinterglemm, deep into the head of the valley to the Lindlingalm above Lengau and across to the more isolated Rammernalm from Vorderglemm. All the walks have ‘mandatory’ eating and drinking, lounging in the sun and maybe an after-lunch snooze.

Sledding (Rodeln)

A wonderful European tradition, sledding (or extreme tobogganing) has a huge following. A fun activity that all of the family can participate in. The Skicircus has three options.

The 3.5km sled trail under the Reiterkogel gondola above Hinterglemm is also open at night under floodlights.

From Saalbach, a snowcat transports sledders up to the Spielberghaus for a snack. Sledders then descend for 3.2km back to town. Transport up is provided from 12 to 9pm and is included in the sled rental. The trail is floodlit at night until 11pm.

In Leogang, sledding can be done from the mid station of the Asitz gondola under floodlights from 6-10.30pm.

Other Skicircus Saalbach Activities

Above Fieberbrunn at the Streuböden mid station, Timoks winter coaster runs over 1km on rails every afternoon. Ice skating can be done at Hinterglemm and snowmobiling near Vorderglemm at 'Snowmobile City'.

Horse drawn sleigh rides go up to the Lindlingalm at the head of the valley above Hinterglemm. Night time rides are available. If you are desperate, one can learn the adrenaline pumping sport of curling too…
