The Landing was an absolutely amazing place to stay. Whilst not a really small hotel, it certainly had the feel of a boutique hotel with very personalised service. In particular, the bellmen and drivers provided exceptional service including ski storage and ski boot warming services.

It’s a very interesting place and it feels a little confused as to its status. It has a somewhat understated lobby for a 5-star and the very narrow rabbit warren corridors make it feel more like a motel. However the hotel service is 5 star and the rooms are opulently exquisite and what you’d expect of a 5 star hotel. With the grandiose bed head and the glamorous bathroom with heated floor and spa bath with massage features, it’s a beautiful place to stay (although perhaps the designer got a little overly excited with all the tartan patterns!).

The pool and hot tub are also a little out of keeping with a 5 star hotel. It’s great that there is an outdoor pool and hot tub, but it’s dettached from the main building so you have to walk across from the lobby and the slat fence means that everyone on the street can see you in your bathers.

Jimmy’s Restaurant is a fantastic place to go for a drink or meal. The food is spectacular, with all sorts of unique flavours that have a Greek twist or influence. The only slight let down was the service which was too over the top and almost intrusive. The staff wouldn’t leave us alone for very long to have a conversation without them frequently interrupting.

We really enjoyed the location right on the lake and it wasn’t too far to walk to and from the Heavenly gondola, restaurants and shops, and the on-demand shuttle service was handy when we were too lazy to walk!

All in all, a fabulous place to stay.
