Central Hokkaido Guided Day Tours
These guided day tours are ideal for
private groups of up to 6 participants seeking ski and snowboard guiding services for one or more days. Make the most of Furano and Central Hokkaido and get guided to explore the best powder stashes safely, whether that be lift-accessed powder chasing, a full backcountry touring day, or a combination of both.
A typical day will commence with an early morning pickup at your hotel in Furano (typically between 7:30 am to 8:00 am) in a private van, and then it's off to your ski destination for the day. The group will ski/ride from first lifts (for resort skiing/riding) until around 12:30 pm, break for lunch, and return to skiing/riding until 4:00 pm. For multi-day tours, your guide will take you to the nearest favourite onsen to unwind until 5:00 pm. The day will conclude with a drop-off at your hotel between 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
Terrain
The main focus will be to spend most of the day away from the piste, exploring the side and backcountry of Furano and other ski resorts (Asahidake, Kamui, Tomamu, Pippu, Sahoro). Other pure backcountry requests for the Tokachidake, Furanodake, and Kurodake areas are available upon request.
You can expect light dry, deep snow, perfect for riding powder. Temps are likely to be cold, ranging from -10 to -30°C / 14 to -22°F. The terrain is a mix of open bowls and faces, and tight tree runs, steep and mellow terrain with short traverses at the end of some runs to get back to the resort slopes. Hokkaido winter is typically snowy or overcast, causing low visibility (bring those high-vis lenses!).
Skill Requirements
It is recommended your group be advanced or higher skill level and have prior experience skiing or snowboarding in powder. It's important that you feel confident on black diamond runs, routinely venture off-piste at resorts or in the backcountry, can navigate any alpine terrain with ease, and maintain a steady rhythm. Nonetheless, since these tours are private they can be tailored to the level of difficulty to match your group's skill levels.
If you have any questions or want to check regarding availability, you can
make a booking request.
Important Points to Consider
Please note that weather conditions will be an essential factor when deciding which ski resort or location to visit. This will ensure you can enjoy the best snow conditions while prioritizing safety.
