Central Hokkaido Guided Tours
Furano day guiding for skiers is available at Furano or nearby ski areas or backcountry zones. Or you can book multiple days of guiding within a window, so that if the weather isn't to your liking or you need a rest day, there's some flexibility. This is ideal because you need to book Central Hokkaido guiding
well in advance, long before whether you know what the snow conditions will be like or whether it's blowing and some key lifts may be closed.
These guided tours are ideal for
private groups of up to 5 skiers seeking guiding services for one or more days. Note that the price per person above is based on having a group of 5, and the pricing is tiered if you have less participants in your group. See the Rates and Inclusions tab for more information.
Make the most of Furano and Central Hokkaido and get guided to explore the best powder stashes safely, with a combination of lift-accessed and lift-assisted powder chasing, and backcountry ski touring.
Note that the guiding is for
skiers only and for those with
ski touring equipment.
Availability for the guiding disappears quickly, and if you want to double check availability or have any other questions,
please get in touch.

Terrain
The main focus will be to spend most of the day away from the piste, exploring the side and backcountry of Furano and other ski resorts (Asahidake, Kamui, Tomamu, Pippu, Sahoro). Other pure backcountry requests for the Tokachidake, Furanodake, and Kurodake areas are available upon request.
You can expect light dry, deep snow, perfect for riding powder. Temps are likely to be cold, ranging from -10 to -30°C / 14 to -22°F. The terrain is a mix of open bowls and faces, and tight tree runs, steep and mellow terrain with short traverses at the end of some runs to get back to the resort slopes. Hokkaido winter is typically snowy or overcast, causing low visibility (bring those high-vis lenses!).
Skill Requirements & Equipment
Guests should be highly advanced skiers or above. Participants must be comfortable skiing any terrain at a typical ski resort, powder, trees, steeps, variable snow conditions, and have experience routinely venture off-piste. Some basic recreational backcountry touring experience is required. The terrain and objectives for the day will be selected to match the group’s ability and experience.
All members must have backcountry touring skis, boots, bindings, and climbing skins. Resort alpine skis/boots are not suitable for these tours. Ski touring equipment can be rented from a few shop in Furano.
If you have any questions or want to double check regarding availability, you can
make a booking request.
Important Points to Consider
Please note that weather conditions will be an essential factor when deciding which ski resort or location to visit. This will ensure you can enjoy the best snow conditions while prioritizing safety.
