Even though it was a poor snow year for Chile, our fantastic guide Ro made the best of what was there. We had 4 bluebird days in Farrelones, and Ro's knowledge of the resorts ensured we found decent lines every day. The snow wasn't good enough to do cat skiing, so we spent two days in Portillo. Again, Ro helped us make the best of poor conditions. Aside from the skiing, the accommodations were excellent including three nights at the Powder Lodge - an experience in of itself with great food and fun. Our driver Marcelo was a great guy and very skilled at his job. David (Gomez) and CASA deliver on what they promise, and his entire Team is on the same page in being committed to providing an excellent guest experience. I hope to do at again and unreservedly recommend this trip for anyone.

Just got back from the Classic Shortie trip. My son (age 17) and I had a great experience. The tour is set up well and maximizes time skiing. Getting to meet other skiers, experiencing new foods and Chile ski areas made for a great trip.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience in Chile the winter of 2019. The main course of this adventure is 3 ski days at Nevados de Chillán and 3 ski days at CorralCo. Alot of thought, planning, and execution went into this trip by CASA tours staff and it allowed me to focus on my skiing. I went solo on this trip to South America. The other guests that I met on this trip were very good skiers and snowboarders from Norway, Florida, Atlanta, Jersey, Oregon, Minnisota. Leading us were our guides Ro (Rodrigo) from Patagonia Region of South America and Anna from Nelson BC. The business owner SkiEO was our tail guide and the three of them all made sure we got the most out of our vacations. Mario from Santiago was our Sprinter Van driver thoughout our trip and kept us on schedule during our 3 travel days . . . getting us between our Lodgings, Restaurants, Ski Mountains and Thermals.

I would recommend this trip to you if you are a good all mountain ski/snowboard skills. My recommendation to you if you go on this trip and you want to ski some more: At the end of this trip, instead of flying back to Santiago from Temuco as planned, rent a car at Temuco and go visit Ski Pucón for an additional 3-days of skiing. Hiking to the Summit of Pucón is very popular. Ski Pucón also has good skiing but gets old after a day or two, but not as good as CorralCo or Chillán. Then drive back to Santiago. Need more ski time ? Drive into Argentina and go ski Bariloche or Las Lenas. If you do want to travel to both Chile and Argentia via the same rental car, the paperwork must be arranged in advance.

Casa Tours was definitely made my trip unforgettable. Gomez and the guides, Anna and Ro, were super knowledgeable about the terrain and all around nice people. Our tour was originally scheduled to spend a few days around Arpa / Portillo, but due to a lack of snow, Gomez moved that part of our trip down to Chillan. We ended up having fresh snow for the first few days. The mountains were awesome, the people were great and this was one of the most fun vacations I've taken. I would strongly recommend booking with Casa and I plan on coming back soon!

This was a great trip! I researched some other tour options, but am glad I chose this one! Chile was having a difficult snow season, but no worries Gomez was able to adjust the trip on short order to get us into some great conditions. Him and his crew are top notch. They are keyed into the mountains, local culture and businesses so have you covered the whole time. I had a blast with the whole gang; guides and guests. If / when you go spend some time in Santiago.

Skiing in the Andes had been on my “bucket list.” After skiing six days with CASA Tours it’s now on my “how soon can I go back?” list. The above tree line skiing on the slopes of volcanic peaks was great. Lift stats don’t tell the story of these mountains. The lifts are just the gateways to these big, open mountains.

Thanks to Gomez’s deep local knowledge and relationships, the after ski activities and meals were memorable too. Best of all was spending time with the experienced and interesting guides and other guests.

CASA Tours works well for anyone from solid intermediate to serious advanced. Be sure to spend a day or two in Santiago as well.

My teenage son and I had a great first trip to Chile with CASA Tours. CASA Tours made an adjustment about 3 weeks before the trip started to a slighly different itinerary to make sure we had the best snow and skiing experience possible. The communication before, during and after the trip has been superb. The lodging and food was local and very comfortable. Staying and eating locally was important to me because while we were focused on skiing, we also wanted to experience Chillean culture. The staff was professional and I appreciated the care and attention to detail everyone with CASA displayed. Thank you for an amazing experience!

I went the first week of August with my brother and my two sons (early college age). It was awesome. It was a real adventure with like minded people. Gomez made the executive decision to pursue some snow further south and it was the perfect pick with fresh powder and bluebird days. I would highly recommend this trip!

This was my second CASA trip with my son, and once again we had a blast. It didn't hurt that a major system blew in off the Atlantic two days in. Gomez (owner) and his guides (Ro and Anna) know these mountains well and guided us into some truly epic freshies in open powder fields. They really go out of their way to make sure your experience on, and off, the mountain is fun and positive. They led us to some great spots to enjoy apre and great chilean food. Logistically, everything went smooth. It was stress free, from meeting us at the airport in Santiago and getting us on a connecting flight down to Corralco, to setting us up in a beautiful hotel in Santiago our last night, and getting us to the airport the next day.

Bottom line, CASA will take care of you and maximize your fun as much as possible. Thanks again CASA.

Dave at Casa Tours runs an amazing trip. From the pre planning info to the ski areas we visited to the incredible restaurants we ate at to the markets we perused to the guides that were super helpful, start to finish we had a great time. Dave even made adjustments to the tour at his expense as we went along to make sure we hit the best snow. I highly recommend Casa Tours and the Classic Shortie trip.

Our group had the misfortune of going during a year where the snow at the scheduled destinations was sub-optimal. However, Gomes saved the trip by changing the destinations so that we were able to ski in locations where there was snow, and we lucked out with the first half of the trip during which we were able to ski fresh powder. Gomes, Ro, and Anna are wonderful and very attentive guides, and they limit the number of trip participants which I think is very important to the enjoyment and fluidity of the trip. I would definitely recommend going with Casas tours if you are planning a trip to Chile.

This was my third trip w/CASA, Chile summer 2016, Japan winter 2017. They're always delivering safe and fun sliding through their knowledge of the local terrain and current conditions. 9/18 was a snow challenged month in the Bariloche area. Thanks to our guides, we had fun skiing high at Cerro Catedral even though we had to download the bottom quarter of the mountain. They determined Cerro Bayo wasn't worth going to while we were there and substituted a nice hike through a local forested drainage area w/a stop at van driver Gonzo's town's favorite watering hole. Our day snowcat skiing was a highlight! La Hoya was a delightful trip back to mom and pop ski areas and Gomez and his Argentine guide staff knew where the goods were to traverse or easy hike to there. CASA has excellent drivers and vans for the road trip portions of their tours in all 3 of the countries I've visited w/them. Owner Dave Johnson (Gomez) has been in the area often enough to steer us to the good restaurants, artisan craft brewpubs, and lodgings. He's always delivered good value to me and my ski buddies.

I repeated this tour September 2019, 10 years after the first time I went on it. It was better than I remembered! I was excited to return to La Hoya, and I'm glad I did. The terrain is great. We had even better conditions than the last time we went. Gomez has extensive knowledge of the terrain and we kept hitting great lines, a few I've never run before. Beyond that, they added a cat day at Baguales to the trip. Wow! What an impressive place. I def need another crack at it. And we had a powder day at Cathedral.. what more can you ask for?
The hotel we stayed in at Bariloche was right on the lake with great views too! Nice accommodations.
Highly recommend!

Had a great time in Chile with all the guest. Even though I did not know half the group that we joined up with everyone got along great. We all had a passion for skiing or riding. Gomez and the guides were first rate in their abilities. Even though conditions were not the greatest they managed to find the right places to get the group to untouched terrain. Gomez and the guides were able to determine what we were capable of skiing and it seemed like there was never any stress of being over our head. Cannot stress how great Gomez and the guides were!

My kids and I talked about summer skiing in Chile for years before we finally headed south. The CASA Tours team's hard work made the trip all that we hoped it would be and more. Our adventure began with Gomez, Anna, Ro and Marcello as our diligent able guides and ended with them as our true friends and travel companions. From forgotten boots to "tragic accidents" on the Roca Jack lift at Portillo, team CASA Tours was always there to smooth over all the potential bumps in the road. Anyone considering an adventure ski vacation should do themselves a favor, book with CASA Tours and prepare for a trip that exceeds their expectations.

My son and I traveled with Gomez and his guides this past summer to Chile. The entire trip was beyond our expectations. The organization of the trip and accommodations were great and we loved the Powder Lodge especially. The guides always found great lines and they were top notch in all respects! Not only was the skiing an adventure but we visited really cool places and the dinner spots were great as well. The entire group our week was super energetic and fun and the guides added to this as well. I would recommend Casa for any of their tours and hope to return on another adventure with them. My son had the trip of a lifetime as well and continues to talk about it. Thank you.

CASA Tours - August 2018 was incredible!

John Denison
15/11/2018
CASA Tours was one of the best decisions I ever made. We skid Arpa, which only a few humans on earth can say they have done, on a two day CAT adventure. There were only 11 of us on the entire mountain and we did untouched bowls with condors flying above us. One day our CAT had to slow down because a family of llamas was in our path! And all without another person for miles. Then we hit El Colorado and La Parva over the next three days. It was great to see the resorts and even better to put the skis on our back and bootpack waaay out of bounds and drop in at 13,000 feet. My last day at Parva, after an hour and a half hike and dropping into an untouched bowl way above where the chairlifts stopped was one of the most intense runs of my life. The guides were extremely helpful. I would not have called myself an expert skier (and i probably still wouldn't) and our guides helped my find less challenging runs at the beginning of the trip while the more advanced folks went big. After I started to get my bearings, thanks to some coaching by the team and my fellow vacationers, I was doing the biggest runs the mountains had to offer. I went in to the trip solo and CASA did such a great job planning dinners and activities and we all left, after a week, like family. They also give you the freedom to explore the local areas and a few of us had some late nights in Santiago which was a blast. I strongly recommend their service as Gomez and the gang are working non-stop to make everyone's trip memorable. The little things go a long way too, like someone being there to pick you up from the airport and transportation back for your outbound. Super helpful. Best skiing of my life!

Our guides, Rodrigo, Alex, Anna and the driver Marcelo, were beyond reproach. Very professional and accommodating, both on the mountain and off the mountain. The trip was well organized and the provided dinners were very good. Lodging can be improved. The first hotel (cabins) had a tricky on demand hot water heater that made it difficult to get a shower. The second hotel was replaced after one of the guests complained and the replacement was much better, with indoor hot pool. Overall, despite those minor accommodations issues it was a good trip.

I have been on many ski trips my life including some cat and heliskiing trips and Gomez's crew is the best I have ever had. We had a lot of different desires in the group and they managed to accommodate everyone. We had variable conditions from three days of great powder skiing to some NewEngland slop at the end but we had a great time anyway. For the first three days they managed to find fresh tracks most every run for those that wanted it. Food was great all week and accommodations were ok. I like the way he has the trip planned with more local lodging and restaurants so you can get involved with the culture as well, instead of being insulated in a sterile resort. Already thinking of my next trip with Casa. Japan?

Casa Tours is the best

Mark Williamson
14/08/2018
I have now gone on 4 tours with Casa Tours. I just returned from the Classic Shortie in Chile. The Owner of the company, David (Gomez) Johnson is extremely hands on with each and every tour and committed to making sure each customer gets the Chilean ski experience they are looking for. The extra activities - meals, winery visits and selection of terrific accommodations really round out the trip. This adventure wouldn't be what it is without David, his guides, and the other guests in search of the same types of adventures as I have been. Our trip had a range of ages from older (me at 51) to a number of twenty somethings and few forty somethings. I was really fortunate to have such a great mix of skiers and personalities but I say that after every trip.

While not inexpensive I believe this tour is a great value. I will be going again in the future and would HIGHLY recommend Casa to anyone looking for a South American ski adventure.

Great tour, great snow, beautiful country

This was my first trip with Casa Tours, and was a blast. Gomez, who runs Casa, does a great job of adding a personal touch to everything from the lodging, to restaurants, and of course the skiing. We got a really authentic experience at places the average tourist would never think to go, and excellent and professional guiding on the mountains.

The trip was in mid-August and we got great snow conditions, thanks to flexibility in planning where we went for which days. Cat skiing at Arpa made the trip to Chile worth it on it's own! Along with Gomez, we also had 2 other world-class guides which kept the guide-guest ratio somewhere around 3 and allowed us to get exactly what we wanted out of the trip. Such a low ratio seems pretty unheard of elsewhere!

Overall a great trip, and would have no hesitations recommending Casa to anyone interested in a great skiing/snowboarding trip.

Awesome family adventure in the mountains of Chile

If you're an avid ski family looking for a great adventure, you will love the Andes Explorer. We were a group of 9 - 2 families, ages 18-60 - and had a blast.

Trip was an amazing intro to the spectacular and vast mountains of Chile, led by Casa's owner and SkiEO, Gomez Johnson. Rather than limit ourselves to one resort (eg Portillo), the Explorer visits FIVE (including the surreal cat-skiing operation, Arpa), and Gomez builds in time to explore Santiago, Valparaiso, a winery, the local market in Chillan (where you'll want to buy a pancho or two)... Gomez understands the mountains and ski towns like only a 30-year veteran can, so he knows where to find the secret stashes, best family-run restaurants, ski shops, espresso, yoga teachers...

Gomez was joined by 3 first-rate guides, all of whom were fun, experienced and safety conscious - comforting when traveling in unknown terrain in big mountains. That gave us the option to split the group when necessary - and preserve family harmony when the kids were looking for some breathing space.

While there is some van time, the drivers are pros and the movie selection was solid - The Big Lebowski, Raising Arizona, McConkey...

This wasn’t my second trip with Casa tours. The founder Gomez really has the place dialed in from food and lodging to the right side country to ride given any conditions. The trip takes you off the beaten path to mountains most wouldn’t hit their first time including Chilan and the surreal cat skiing at Arpa. Highly recommended...I’ve done it twice!

Ski with the BEST guides - CASA Tours & Craig Ross

Mark Lerch
11/06/2017
This was the second trip my son and I have taken with CASA Tours to South America. We had travelled with them to Chile a couple of summers earlier and everything about that trip was done so well by the CASA team led by Dave "Gomez" Johnson that we didn't give a second thought to traveling with them when we decided to experience the other side of the Andes. Craig Ross from CASA, one of our team of guides in Chile, was our guide for The Powder Triangle Tour and we were very happy to tour with him again. He is a native of Bariloche which serves as the hub for the whole trip. He has a passion for his city and country and for the outdoors and a complete commitment to making sure you have a great experience with both the skiing and enjoying the culture. The itinerary for the trip was well designed. We were able to enjoy the variety of skiing terrain and spectacular scenery of three mountains, Cerro Catedral, Cerro Bayo and Chapelco. All were fun mountains to ski and with views you'll never forget. Conditions and weather can vary widely from day to day, so it's great to have a guide like Craig that is so knowledgeable about these mountains and can adapt and modify things on a day to day basis to make sure you get to the best terrain. And you couldn't ask for a nicer guy to share some meals and a glass of Malbec and learn about Argentina. You'll have a much better experience traveling with CASA and guides like Craig than if you try to do this trip on your own. We even hired Craig for a couple of extra days at the end to go to Baguales for some back country skiing, which was the cherry on top of a great trip. Thanks CASA Tours and Craig!

Chile - Ski There and Back Again Soon.

Glen Wernersbach

Chile is amazing place to ski. It should be experienced once, twice or as many times as possible by every skier.

It is a very easy flight right into Santiago on the same Eastern time zone. Casa Tours is waiting for you right at airport and the fun starts.

After a stop for outdoor cafe lunch and some site seeing in Santiago, the next stop is a Chilean Winery on the way to Portillo. Wine in Chile is unbelievable. Inexpensive, organic and the best vintages. it has no sulfates in it so you drink as much as you desire without hang over effects. You spend the first night a Villa in the town closest to Portillo and get to meet everyone.

On the way up to Portillo, you will see the Chilean people sledding by the side of the road. Snow seems to be a mystery to most of the people in Chile. Portillo Is probably the most famous to Americans of all south american ski resorts. The scenery is beautiful. Portillo has a mixture of traditional lifts serving groom runs, pommel horses serving steeper terrain and some boot backing for the high adventure decent. On snowy days, it rocks! Take an afternoon apres ski into the bar and hot tub.

After a night of more Chilean wine and a great catered dinner, it is off to Ski Arpa. Sk Arpa is like no place ski resort that I have ever seen. It is a cat skiing resort. You ski totally on untracked areas. They open up new section each time just for Casa tours. The cat takes you up to the top of a peak. You hike a small distance and presto there is the best looking snow you will ever see. Ski Arpa was just one day but became my favorite resort in the world.

After Ski Arpa, you return to Santiago for a night on the town starting with some of the best Sushi you will find anywhere. With the length of Chile’s coast line, it is one of the best places to get fresh fish and therefore one of the best places for sushi in the world. You can say out late this night because the next day is a travel day to Nevados De Chile.

After catching up on your sleep from the late night before, you get to see a lot of the beautiful Chilean countrysideon the journey to Nevados De Chile. The lunch stop is gourmet 5 star white table cloth meal at a winery. You want to make sure stock up the inexpensive wines and other spirits in their store for the rest of the trip. You will want to bring an extra suite case to bring some home.

Nevados De Chile is a resort where the runs are where the groomers decide that day to run their machines that day. Everything else is untracked power. It has the best lift service of any of the resort we visited. It is the closest to an American resort and even has a Casino. Its some best in bounds powder and hike to terrain anywhere. We spent three days there and never got tired of it. The apes ski is great too. We spent the nights talking, drinking, eating, dancing, swimming and whatever else you can imagine.

On the last day when it was time leave for the airport, you were saying goodbye to great friends.

On a personal note. I came to Chile because I loved to ski. I booked it about a month out while I was really busy at work. I was not necessary in the best shape at the time or had the best gear. I was completely honest with Casa Tours about all this before hand. The group that I was with all happened to be exceptional skiers. Casa tours took great care of me. Kept me safe. Pushed my ability level. Gave me one on one guiding when I needed it and made sure i had great time. It opened my eyes to a whole new realm of skiing. I have since lost 30 pounds, am in better shape, upgraded my gear and am going back to Chile this year. Stay tuned for my next review.

You should book for this year right now!

I have had the pleasure of attending not only the Condor Classic but several of CASA Tours' trips in Chile and Argentina and I would highly recommend CASA Tours.

SKiEO Dave "Gomez" Johnson along with his guides provide a superb opportunity to enjoy amazing ski locations while taking care of all your needs including transportation, itinerary, dining, nightlife, while facilitating a great camaraderie with the guests.

If you seek a unique skiing experience while enjoying the benefits of local knowledge in the Andes and meeting great people with similar interests, you owe it to yourself to book a trip with CASA Tours.

I have traveled with CASA tours quite a bit. It has grown in to an extended family. Mr. Johnson (ski.e.o.) mentioned the Condor Classic trip that he had put together. I could not turn it down. It has days at the top destinations in northern Chile. Good Times! Looking forward to the next CASA adventure!

A thoughtfully planned, well put together, small group tour that gets you away from the crowds. Expertly hosted and carefully organised, all destinations were unique and highly enjoyable with challenging runs, back country opportunities and spectacular mountain scenery.

Super comfortable accommodation and delicious food on this tour made long days on the snow possible and pleasant. Fantastic transport in comfortable bus driven by friendly Chilean driver made travelling easy. No getting lost or stuck in gnarly road conditions.

South America is a must visit destination and I fitted in a snow adventure in Chile on my way to tango dancing in Buenos Aires.

If you are looking for something to take your riding to the next level, and have an awesome time, this is it!

Getting horizontal while chasing vertical at La Parva
There is only one Casa Tours. There is only one Gomez. There is only one Nevados de Chillan. I was fortunate enough to get to know all three, all together, in one 8 day period. Even with a subpar snow year for Chile I had a great time. We caught some soft stuff on the last day that put a nice exclamation point on the trip.

Gomez and Alex are great humans and terrific guides. They'll find the best snow and show you some great lines. If you're an expert, they'll give you the super tech. If you like groomers, they can show you those too. You can't go wrong.

And off the mountain they're a lot of fun. They know the people and the people know them. Which makes for a very warm, friendly, and positive vibe.

I was lucky enough to participate on the maiden voyage of the Condor Classic. This was my second experience using Casa Tours as my guide for my snowboarding adventure in the southern hemisphere. I don't think I would ski South America without them. My adventure began right when I got off the airplane and I was greeted by a smiling Gomez (owner of Casa Tours). I met the other 9 people in our group and we were all soon fast friends over some Chilean wine.

One of my favorite aspects of the trip is that, although I traveled to Chile to snowboard, I was still exposed to a lot of culture. Our van ride down to Chillan gave me a great opportunity to see the Chilean country side and I loved our stop for lunch at the Miguel Torres Vineyard.

Although there were many snowboarding highlights, I have to mention two of my favorites. First, our day at Arpa, the cat skiing operation out in the middle of no where. It was so cool to see the expansive terrain and to shred untouched powder, on what seemed like, the top of the world. Secondly, when we were down in Chillan, we did a day long skinning trip out of bounds. Not only was the snow AMAZING, but the scenery was breath taking. My guides were patient even though I was the slowest one in the group and always made me feel comfortable.

I can't really say that there was a single disappointing thing about the trip. Of course, I always wish for Ullr to send us more snow but with such exceptional guides, they were able to find us those powder lines that you only see in Warren Miller movies.

After our long days on the mountain, we were treated to some of the best cuisine. The trip cost included our dinners and we were fed well. We dined on sushi and delicious Chilean Meats.

This trip had it all, great riding, great food, great wine, and great people to share it with.

CASA tours looked after our needs perfectly. They arranged for transportation from the airport and a guided tour of Santiago ahead of the official start day of the ski trip. The guides were amazing, super talented and we had a blast and not to forget our experienced driver who was Mr. Professional.

I liked that the tour was a little off the beaten path without the commercialization. CASA tours are committed to supporting the local economy and had the utmost respect for the Chilian people. Felt safe and CASA tours looked after all our needs including translation to English now and then. The accommodations were at small local resorts with great hosts and the food was amazing, a 10 out of 10!

If you didn’t get enough of skiing in Canada this winter, then this trip is a great way to get in a few more days in the July and August!! Highly recommend CASA tours.

CASA tours Andes Explorer was a great trip. The travel was smooth. From airport pick up to departure the itinerary was well organized. The accommodations were homy and comfortable while providing a great Chilean experience. The resorts and skiing were phenomenal!

The mountain guides were professional, safe, fun, and amazing skiers. They provided wonderful alpine and touring opportunities. The translation services and language tips were very helpful. The company went out of their way to accommodate me for traveling around after our group tour ended.

Off the mountain was fun, interactive and allowed for each traveler to tailor their off mountain experience. Thank You.

Best Way To Experience Chile

18/06/2015
My 14 year old son and I made the trip down to Chile August of last year. The owner of CASA Tours, David Johnson (a.k.a. “Gomez”), has been guiding us around the mountains of Southwest Montana for the past 10 years or so. Based on our personal relationship with him we knew we couldn’t go wrong with CASA Tours and Gomez and his crew did not disappoint.

Upon arriving in Santiago, we were greeted at the airport and they took care of everything from thereon out. Gomez and his crew are a super fun and energetic group that want to make sure everyone in the group has the best experience possible. The accommodations and food were outstanding. Our favorite restaurant was a sushi bar in Santiago (I forget the name). Probably the best sushi I’ve ever sampled.

Oh, and the skiing was pretty epic as well. Gomez and the crew did a great job of grouping everyone based on ability and comfort level. Their vast knowledge of the Chilean terrain will get you to the goods. From Tres Valles just outside of Santiago to Nevados de Chillan further south, we experienced some really outstanding terrain and conditions.

We will book again with CASA Tours when we return to South America in the very near future. Hope this helps anyone contemplating a trip down to the Southern Hemisphere.

CASA is the best bet for summer pow!

Matt S.
17/06/2015
Casa Tours is your best bet for shredding pow in the summer! I went on the High Andes Adventure last year during a low snow year by Chilean standards and still got in some of the best skiing of my life. The guides are very knowledgeable and know exactly where to go to find the best snow, whether it is in bounds or in the backcountry. Our tour was even modified and we ditched a resort with very little snow and drove to another to catch the tail end of a 2 ft storm! We skied Valle Nevado, La Parva, and Nevados de Chilian...all resorts provided us with exciting terrain and great snow.

The guides go at the pace of the group...if you want to ski groomers, you can ski groomers, but if you want to hike or skin for the goods, the guides are there for you. All avalanche safety gear was provided including beacon, probe, and radio, along with teaching on how to use the equipment.

Aside from the amazing skiing, Casa tours provided us with top lodging and amazing meals. It is the perfect tour to experience some of the best skiing Chile has to offer along with being able to explore the countryside and immerse yourself in Chilean culture.

I highly recommend it and I am going back for more this summer with Casa!

Fantastic Father/Son Andes Adventure

Mark Lerch
17/06/2015
Our trip with CASA Tours in the Summer of 2014 was very special father/son time together experiencing a unique, fascinating and spectacular part of the world, all while indulging in some fantastic skiing with a fun group of people led by a team of dedicated, caring guides that are clearly experts at what they do and who were determined to make sure we all had a great time - and they succeeded!

Dave "Gomez" Johnson, CASA Tours leader, is incredibly experienced with regard to Andes skiing and culture and planned out our trip perfectly. He also did a great job adapting to weather/conditions challenges to make sure we always had the best possible skiing and made the most of the opportunity to chase the powder wherever it was falling the most. We were led by Gomez and two other guides, Alex Taran and Craig Ross, who were just as wonderful and always made sure we had great fun, food, adventures and, of course, simply fabulous skiing.

We would love to make some turns with them again and share more laughs and would highly recommend them to anyone thinking of skiing in the Andes. Don't go on your own. Go with CASA Tours and you will not regret it!

My trip was... super bien! Casa tours pushed my legs, snowboarding ability, and stokemeter to the edge and beyond, taking me to fantastic spots for dinner and gloriously eclectic and very comfortable hotels/cabanas/lodges, and always able to guide me to the best spots on the mountain, regardless of the snow conditions.

Not sure I will ever go to a new mountain without a guide again, was the most enlightening aspect of the experience.

I would highly recommend any Casa Trip, to any rider or skier, regardless of their ability. Cheers to el jefe gomez, el profesional Marcello, and la sh**show Alex, crazy big eyes to ya!

I had never been on a guided tour of any ski area (and I've been to quite a few), and I had never been on a guided trip for any vacation (and I've been on quite a few), but I am sure happy I have now! Not sure I ever want to go back to non-guided for any new mountain I visit.

The food, lodging, and transportation was fantastic, but it was the on mountain guide that really sells it, so far exceeded my expectations that I'm not sure this review gives it justice.

Alex and Gomez were fantastic hosts, and I would definitely recommend any of their trips to all comers.

I skied as many great lines in an 8 day trip with Gomez, Alex, and Casa Tours as I did in my first month long unguided trip to ski in Chile.

Skiing in the Andes can be challenging and having an intimate understanding of the landscape is invaluable for having fun as the conditions change in those BIG mountains. These guys have the touch. The guide team did an excellent job pairing skiers of similar ability.

At the end of the day, when the entire group reconvened for some apres, it was smiles all around and a palatable group stoke.

Professional drivers and responsible guides create a safe environment for cutting loose and enjoying the finer things Chile has to offer on and off the slopes. High adventure, easy living, and a great vibe were the name of the game. Don't wait go now.

I have traveled with CASA for the last three years. The trips are great fun: good skiing, nice accommodations, and excellent food. Dave ‘Gomez’ Johnson, owner and lead guide, is very customer oriented and does everything reasonably possible to make sure that his guests have a good time. While the skiing is the main purpose of the trip; I really like the exposure to the people and the culture of South America. I highly recommend CASA for a real South American ski adventure.

I loved the trip. I am a skier from the Midwest USA. I leave our small local resort and go out to a Colorado resort for a week or two every winter. I was given a trip to Chile as a 50th birthday present from family.

I told Casa Tours what my level of skier was and they said they would make it work. True to form they took care me and I had the trip of my life. They taught and pushed me but kept me safe.

Chile, the people, the wine and the snow are awesome. Ski Arpa, Valle de Nevados are fantastic.

Since the trip I've been upgrading my gear and my shape so I can get back and have an even greater experience.

Gomez and his staff see to it that everyone is able to enjoy the maximum amount of turns at their skill level and in their comfort zone. The scenery is beautiful, the food delicious and the locals friendly and accommodating. I have definitely decided that this will be an annual adventure and can’t wait to conquer more of the Southern Hemisphere

I have traveled with CASA extensively and this trip is a montage of the best skiing and experiences that Chile has to offer.

CASA has gone above and beyond with this trip. Whether it's your first time to Chile or your 10th, this trip is amazing..

Casa tours is an outstanding organization. Snow sports in August is all that a powder hound needs, but Casa goes the extra mile.

The accommodations are spot on. The food in Chile is great and CASA tours knows exactly where the best of the best is. And no one knows the nightlife like CASA. That's right, when CASA says this is a fully guided tour they don't just mean during the day on snow. Your spanish speaking guides/drivers show you everything Chile from the time you awake to wee hours in the evening.

Oh, and the snow. Yea, that's why we come. Ski Arpa will Blow your mind, guaranteed! Nevados de Chillan is the absolute Fav and Portillo is the timeless classic.

I think I just talked myself into going again!!
