Asobi Master® | Hokkaido International Adventure Masters Co., Ltd. is a registered Japanese kabushiki kaisha based in Higashikawa which is the gateway town at the foot of Asahidake. Asobi Master is the Asahidake specialist. It's their home mountain.
Programs are founder-led unless disclosed at booking, with your lead guide confirmed by name. Founder Mick Hultz is a Wilderness EMT and American Avalanche Institute Professional Level 1, with 16 years directing military recreation and training programs in Japan and 16+ years riding and guiding Tohoku and Hokkaido. He is a member of the Asahidake Ski Patrol and the Higashikawa Search and Rescue team. Any HIAM guide is vetted to the same operating standards and carries wilderness medical training.
Standards on every program: maximum 4 guests per guide; never mixed groups. Helmets are mandatory for all participants and guides. Avalanche transceivers must be modern 3-antenna digital units and the function is checked every morning. Guides carry licensed professional radios and full emergency kit, on serialized, lifecycle-managed equipment.
The company operates under Japanese law as a registered kabushiki kaisha, carries general liability insurance of ¥500,000,000 per occurrence covering its guiding and equipment rental operations, and enrolls every program guest in domestic accident cover. All policies are held in Japan with Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance through Shiribeshi Insurance Agency.
Every participant completes the suitability screening and signs the Liability Waiver before taking part, so groups are matched to terrain and conditions honestly.
