Takamiya Ryokan Sou

Takamiya Ryokan Sou (Meitoya Sou) is a traditional Japanese ryokan (hotel/inn) that was refurbished in 2017.

Accommodation

Rooms are either: 

Japanese-style with futons on the tatami mat floor (for up to 4 guests) with a low table & seating, or

A combination of 2 western beds plus a tatami area where 2 futons can be added plus a small seating area with table.

All rooms have private toilets but only some have private bathrooms. As this is a traditional Japanese hotel, most guests use the communal Japanese bathhouse to bathe.

Property Features

As with many of Zao Onsen's hotels, the property has an indoor & outdoor hot springs bathhouse (onsen); what better way to rejuvenate after a day on the slopes!

The hotel also has a karaoke room and a shared lounge/tv area plus drinks vending machines.

Free wifi is available as is free parking.

Restaurants

Meitoya has a traditional Japanese restaurant serving traditional multi-course dishes.

A Japanese-style breakfast is also available.

Services

The hotel offers a free shuttle service to the lifts (which are within an easy walk as well).

Rooms are also made up on a daily basis and the front-desk has some English speaking personnel.
