Skiing Near Osaka
The Osaka region has no mountains or snow, year the nearby Shiga and Hyogo prefectures offer potential for day trips for skiing or snowboarding.
Unless you're a beginner or you don't care about the quality of the snow you're sliding on, you're probably better off prioritising your yen and time to go to ski resort further north such as those around Nagano City or the Niigata ski resorts. If you are a beginner and keen to go skiing somewhere near Osaka, here are options for day trips.
Biwako Valley is in the Shiga Prefecture, 89km from Osaka.It's not renowned for high quality snow, it doesn't get a lot of natural snowfall, and it's not an high elevation. There are buses from Osaka to Biwako Valley or you can get a train to Shiga train station and a shuttle to the resort from there.
Gransnow Okuibuki is in the northern part of the Shiga Prefecture, 158km northeast of Osaka. Despite the name of the ski resort, don't have high expectation for grand snow.

The city of Osaka is located in the Osaka Prefecture in the Kansai region on the main island of Honshu. Osaka is 500km southwest of Tokyo by road, and 57km southwest of Kyoto.
You can travel by train from Tokyo to Osaka on the bullet train which takes about 2:15 to 2:30 hours.
Osaka has two airports; Kansai International Airport (KIX) which has a train station; and tami Airport.
