Shinazawa
Shinazawa is a delightful Japanese lodge run by the lovely Shinazawa family. The lodge has a large dining area and a common area for guests to congregate and swap stories at the end of the day.
Where is Shinazawa?
It is a handy location just being near the bus stop and convenience store. You can get the bus from the door to the slopes, or it’s a 350m walk. It’s an easy 600 metre stroll from the lodge into the main hub of
Nozawa Onsen where most of the restaurants, bars and shops are located.
There is a public onsen about 100 metres from the lodge.

Rooms
The lodge offers family rooms (for up to 5 guests, although with luggage as well it could be a little squishy with 5) and twin rooms. All rooms are Japanese-style (futons on tatami flooring). Rooms have a private toilet & basin however bathrooms are shared segregated male/female and include a small hot spring bath.

Dining
A buffet-style breakfast (Western & Japanese options) is included and is served in the dining area.
The lodge also does great evening meals if you want to spend some nights in. The food experience is said to be exceptional.
The lodge is just a couple of minutes walk to the nearest restaurant and about 10 minutes walk to the centre of the village where you will find many Nozawa Onsen restaurants to sample the fantastic Japanese cuisine.
