Raicho Lodge
Raicho Lodge is a renovated pension (formerly Tanuki) that been transformed into a comfortable boutique ski lodge, whilst retaining the Japanese essence of the accommodation. You can stay in Japanese tatami rooms with futons or a room with western beds. Some rooms have an ensuite bathroom.
Where is Raicho Lodge Madarao?
Raicho Lodge is well position at
Madarao. It’s a 3 minute walk (200m) to the slopes of Madarao Mountain Resort and 500m walk to the main base of the ski resort. Various restaurants and bars are within very easy walking distance.

Madarao travel page for information on getting a bus or trains from the airport to Madarao. If pre-arranged, Raicho Lodge staff can provide a pickup service from Iiyama train station.
Parking spaces are limited. Please let the staff know at time of booking if you require a parking spot.
Rooms
The boutique lodge has 9 rooms that are a decent size, and offer views of the surrounding mountains.
Room types:
- Japanese tatami room quad, up to 4 futons, shared bathroom facilities (some rooms have a loft)
- Western twin/queen room, private bathroom
- Western twin/queen room, shared bathroom facilities
- Combo family suite (up to 5 guests) – 2 western single beds & 3 futons – private bathroom (2 adjoining rooms)
All rooms are non-smoking. Rooms without a private bathroom can utilise the shared bath which is Japanese style.

Kermis@Madarao is the onsite restaurant that serves lovely Japanese and European cuisine.
The lodge has a bar that serves a variety of wines, Japanese sake, beer and spirits, and you can sit around the fire whilst enjoying your après ski drinks.
