Run by a bilingual (Italian & English) mum & daughter team with a bevy of ski instructor qualifications, their 'Women Only Weeks' (WoW) provide a wonderful environment for all that is good about skiing, the mountains, snow & fun. The Skiing

In addition to daily ski instruction to get you comfortable both on & off the piste, the tour aims to explore a new part of the 4 Vallèes each day, and only the groomed pistes. Of the six ski days, five are guided by local, qualified instructors, and one day is free for you to choose your own adventure.

In terms of skiing, there are over 400kms of linked pistes over the interlinked 4 Vallees ski areas, each with its own distinct character. Whilst based in Nendaz, you will get to experience the entire 4 Vallèes including the huge Printse sector (Nendaz-Veysonnaz-Thyon) & Verbier (incl La Tzoumaz, Savoleyres & Bruson).

Every ski day starts after breakfast at around 8.45am, and whilst based in Nendaz, the extensive 4 Vallees lift & trail network is utilised, plus local transport, to visit the many parts of the resort. You might ski local amongst some of Nendaz's famed ancient larch glades, go to Veysonnaz & Thyon, or to Verbier, or to further afield to quiet Bruson or La Tzoumaz. There is so much here to choose from. In the end though, achieving full descents of some 4 Vallees classic 'Yellow Itineraries' will be one of the major goals of the tour. Mont Fort here you come!

Skiing on each day is aimed to finish at around 4.30pm so you have until dinner to take advantage of some ‘me’ time. There is one day off per week to either free ski, relax or go on a small adventure of your own (or with some of your new friends!).

For detailed information on the skiing & overall day to day program, see the Itinerary tab.

Lodging & Meals

A beautiful hotel with single-occupancy double rooms plus ensuite for each guest are a feature of the tour. The Hotel Mad Mount is located right across from the gondola base in the upper, central part of Nendaz village, with outstanding facilities and include all breakfasts & six dinners, full bars & lounges, plus superbly equipped wellness centres for after-hours relaxation.

Lunch each day will be at one of the many mountain restaurants that dot the region. Afterward an aperitivo (or two) will be had at a local bar before heading back to the hotel. One dinner (not included in the tariff) will be arranged for the group at a local restaurant.

For more info about the hotels & meals, see the Lodging tab.

Ski Ability, Fitness, Instruction & Gear

Ski (& snowboard) abilities need to be at least lower intermediate to upper intermediate. Of course more advanced skiers can attend also.

To enjoy the trip to the maximum, you need to be reasonably fit and active. You will be expected to ski roughly six hours a day, sometimes slightly less, sometimes slightly more. The days are punctuated by a morning coffee/loo stop and lunch.

The daily itineraries are meticulously planned and timed. Whilst the guides try to accommodate everyone, once on one of the day tours away from the hotel, they cannot always provide an early ‘get out’. Each day is a round trip with time and lift constraints and as such all the group’s skiers need to be able to complete the circuit. Any health/injury issues are to be disclosed at the time of booking.

Daily ski instruction with English speaking, fully qualified FISI female ski instructors is undertaken on five of the ski days. Outside of any 'formal' ski lessons, the instructors will be on hand all day, every day, to advise you on your technique should you need it.

Ski gear (including helmet) are NOT included in the tariff but can be rented from a shop near the hotel. Make a request with the tour operator when booking. Of course if you have your own ski gear suitable for off-piste, mixed snow terrain, please bring it!

Getting There & Away

The tour is based in the Swiss 4 Vallèes village of Nendaz. Participants can make their own way to the hotel or make use of the included private transfer from Geneva (GVA) airport. Any transfers outside the specified dates/times will not be covered by the tour tariff. At the end of the tour you will be dropped back at the airport in time for your flight home.

For anyone travelling to the hotel one their own steam, there is free car parking at the hotel, or if coming by public transport, the last bus stop to Nendaz from Sion train station is right at the hotel door!

Itinerary for 8-Day Women-Only Week of 4 Vallees Yellow Itineraries

Each tour week runs to a similar itinerary but with daily variations to the ski route/destination based on the snow & weather conditions, plus the group's ability & wishes.

DAY 1: Arrival, Transfer & Welcome

Upon arrival in country, once you’ve collected your bags at the Geneva airport, simply follow the airport plan you have been sent to walk to the pickup point. You’ll be in your shiny private Mercedes van on the way to your accommodation at Nendaz in no time.

Once in resort, you will be met by the WoW team at your hotel accommodation for check-in. Your holiday includes a tasteful room with single occupancy, so you have plenty of room to stretch out. Once you’ve settled in, been shown round to the ski room and spa areas, meet up in the bar area for a very welcome drink, an introduction to who everyone is, and plans for the first ski day. The WoW team will run through the most fundamental details and then you’ll head off for dinner.

DAY 2: Finding Your Ski Legs ...

After breakfast, at roughly 8.45am, you will be taken to collect any necessary ski equipment & ski passes. The first ski day is taken very easy, knowing some people may not have been on skis for a whole year. You will be taken to the main lift where the group will meet your lovely local ski instructors. They will be with you all week. The Sommet et Neige instructors are adept at identifying technical difficulties and aim to improve ski performance through an understanding of how skiing actually works; your body positioning, your uses of edging and pressure, and will employ accurate strategies, drills and exercises to ensure maximum enhanced improvement throughout your training and performance weeks. Their goal is to not only to improve your skiing but help you to understand how you can achieve results. Thereafter, we’ll be setting out on the day's itinerary, with the instructors on hand all day to remind you individually of what to work on.

Each day your ski lunches are prebooked, so that no queueing for tables is required, though sometimes you may have to wait 5 minutes or so. On this first ski day, you’ll be staying local and the mountain restaurant chosen will require only a short ski home after lunch.

DAY 3 to 7: Exploring the 4 Vallees

Each day, the group will ski in new parts of the 4 Vallees. The ski pass you are required to purchase is a ‘4 Vallèes’ pass, allowing skiing in all of the areas.

If necessary, there is a van for transport to & from the best itineraries, and each day's route will be assessed considering the group level, snow and weather conditions. You might go to Veysonnaz & Thyon, or to Verbier, or to further afield to quiet Bruson or La Tzoumaz. There is so much here to choose from.

As a general rule of thumb, and throughout the week, the preference is to start early, stop for mid-morning coffee, and take a late-ish lunch so that the afternoon ski is shorter. We find that an early lunch interrupts the day, and we’d prefer to take advantage of good early snow conditions and not having an afternoon rush, especially if the snow is tricky.

Lunch venues are based on the best food available in the ski area chosen that day. The guides definitely have favourites.... These may be chic mountain huts or traditional venues, but the prices will be competitive (however remember you are in Switzerland!) and the food excellent.

At roughly around 4pm, there might be a stop for an après ski drink if in the van, or of skiing back to Nendaz, head to the hotel to unload your kit in the ski room, so that you can go for a drink, enjoy a swim, or relax in the spa.

On a Tuesday or Thursday evening, a local restaurant will be booked for dinner to get you out of the hotel so that the group can all eat together and giggle under different circumstances. Expect the wine to flow!

The Wednesday is your designated day off to free ski at your leisure, sleep late, or do whatever you please. The guides reserve the right however, in bad weather, to swap over the Wednesday to another day.

At the end of the final ski day you will be advised you of your departure time and reminded to settle any outstanding bar bills at the hotel. The WoW team will also be on hand all day every day to answer questions and help out.

DAY 8: DEPARTURE

After a wonderful breakfast, you are picked up and transferred to Geneva airport. Say goodbye to the Swiss Alps. You will be back!
