Itinerary
The adventure begins in Val di Sole, a small valley in western Trentino. From here, you can directly access the Folgarida-Marilleva ski area, connected by ski lifts to the Madonna di Campiglio and Pinzolo ski areas: a carousel of over 230 km of legendary slopes surrounded by the Brenta Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Added to this, there are the 100 km of slopes of the Passo del Tonale, with its Presena glacier reaching almost 3,000 metres altitude, and the authentic nature of Pejo 3000, in the heart of the Stelvio National Park. Val di Sole thus becomes the ideal base for discovering a different side of the mountains every day.
With a guided tour, not only will you always have a professional guide at your side to choose the best routes, but you can also try freeriding in total safety, enriching the experience with stories and interesting facts about the region.
Sleeping in mountain huts (rifugi) at high altitude is part of the journey: you can enjoy typical Trentino dishes - steaming Canederli or Polenta - in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The 3-star hotel in the valley, at the start and finish of the tour, offers comfort, hearty breakfast, and dinners featuring local specialties and regional wines.

Lodging & Meals
Over the 8 days & 7 nights of the tour all the accommodation and half-board meals are included and arranged for you. The first and final nights are spent in the comfort of 3-star hotels in a convenient, central location in Val di Sole, with private ensuite rooms on a double or triple-share basis. In between, 5 nights are spent in wonderfully located ski-in ski-out mountain huts (rifugi) situated to take in the beautiful views and enjoy the silence of the mountains once all the other skiers descend for the evening. Accommodation is authentic alpine style in comfortable dorm rooms with shared bathroom facilities. Single/private rooms may be available on request.
All breakfasts & dinners are included whilst on the tour. For lunch, the region is filled with amazing mountain restaurants in the world. Follow the suggestions of the tour information and you can’t go wrong!
What is Self-Guiding?
This self-guided trip offers the freedom to explore the mountains on your own terms, at your own pace, and whether you’re traveling alone, as a couple, or with friends. The tour operator handles all the logistics, booking mountain huts and alpine lodges, providing detailed maps and a step-by-step itinerary, and ensuring constant support before and during the ski safari. The itineraries, always tested by the team, follow well-marked and safe trails. This option is therefore the ideal choice for those seeking total independence, without sacrificing the support of professionals who plan the trip down to the smallest detail.
Ski Ability, Fitness & Gear
As these are private tours, all ski & snowboard abilities can be catered for, however due to the distances and types of ski trails/pistes skied, the tour is not recommended for beginners. Whilst it is always best for all group members to be of a similar level of ski/snowboard ability, it is not absolutely necessary. The tour operator describes the required ski ability for this ski safari as: ".....mainly on red (intermediate) slopes with possible short optional black sections. Recommended for skiers with well-established basic technique and good control of their skis even on slightly crowded or fast sections."
Due to the distances skied each day, and the length of some individual ski runs (up to 8km long on Pejo!), each participant should have a good level of fitness. There is up to 4-5hr of skiing required each day.
Ski & snowboarding gear are not included but rentals can be arranged as part of the package.
Getting There & Away
The Brenta Dolomites Guided Ski Safari tour begins & ends in the Vale di Sole, not far from Madonna di Campiglio. Airports that can be utilised to get to the region include Innsbruck (INN) or perhaps Verona (VRN)(for travellers from within Europe or UK), Venice (VCE), Milan (MXP) or Munich (MUC). Transfers to the start of the tour and at the end of the tour are not included. Whilst public transport (train & bus) can be taken to Val di Sole via Trento, the most efficient mode of travel is a pre-booked private transfer.
