Brig makes a great value base for a Swiss multi ski resort safari or just a stopover to bigger and better things. Direct trains from all the main airports mean it is possible to fly into Milan, Geneva or Zurich in the morning from anywhere in the world and be in Brig for morning coffee! From town, the ski resorts are easy to get to by bus or rail. Skied Lauchernalp, Aletsch Arena, Belalp and Rosswald as easy day trips from Brig, then travelled east to Andermatt and beyond by train. No need for a car in Switzerland if travelling alone.

Brig has loads of good hotel and restaurant options plus all services.

The Stockalper Palace and the historic quarter are a delight to discover in the evenings or if not skiing. Whenever I travel to Switzerland, Brig always figures in the travel route, such is its importance.
