Well Priced Accommodation

26/02/2019
The Glacier House Hotel & Resort is aptly rated as a 3 star property. It more than does the trick for skiers/snowboarders or sledders looking for reasonably priced accommodation, so long as you have a car and aren’t expecting anything luxurious.

The location is perfect for sledders being right next to a major trailhead, and we heard the joyous tones of the revving of snowmobiles in the morning. The resort was not as ideally located to access the ski resort (20-25 mins drive away) or town and having a car was essential. The hotel is renowned for offering beautiful views but unfortunately we didn’t see these because fine days in winter in Revelstoke are somewhat rare, and the power lines of the adjacent hydro-electric plant may have marred any views.

Our room was really large and it had a large bath, gas fireplace and really good heating. The 2 queen beds were both saggy but comfortable enough when not sharing a bed.

It was good that there was a pub on-site in the basement, and whilst the food was pretty average, it was a relaxing spot to hang out without having to drive into town for dinner.

The hotel has a decent sized swimming pool and hot tub indoors, which is a major pro for the resort.
