Truly amazing across the board from the skiing itself to the knowledgeable staff to the great amenities - every single detail was planned out for you so you could just enjoy yourself when you got there.. I had an absolutely incredible experience and would high recommend this to anyone else looking at heli-skiing options

Had an absolutely incredible experience at Tyax Lodge. There were so many things that stood out, but the one-group-per-heli setup was truly next level.

Yes, the helicopter is loud when it drops you off, but the moment it leaves, it’s pure silence and peace at the top of the mountain with your group. From there, you ski down to a waiting helicopter through terrain that feels both exciting and incredibly safe, guided by a lead and tail guide. I was initially nervous about heli-skiing from a safety perspective, but that quickly disappeared. Between the guides, the pilot, avalanche gear, and airbag backpacks provided, I felt completely taken care of. It allows you to focus on skiing instead of worrying.

The lodge itself exceeded every expectation. From a barista making gourmet coffee each morning (with multiple milk options) to multi-course dinners, après snacks, and an on-site spa and massage, every detail is thoughtfully done. The comfort and hospitality elevated the entire experience.

What really stood out, though, was the people. The staff makes you feel genuinely welcomed - like you’re part of a family. It’s rare to find a place where no corners are cut across both experience and safety.

Truly an unforgettable trip. The experience is unmatched, and it’s one I’ll be thinking about for a long time.

The whole team at the lodge as well as the guides and pilots are amazing!

We were always taken care of perfectly, the guides and pilots make the most of every day and always find untouched powder while keeping safety their top priority! And no matter how challenging the conditions may be, we always felt completely safe.

One of the most important things for us is the tail guide, who we believe is essential for the guests’ safety. It’s important to us to have a professional bringing up the rear of the group. The fact that Tyax flies only one group per helicopter makes the heliskiing experience a true highlight! You can’t get any more luxury on the mountain than this. Even if you want to skip a run, you always have the option here.

The day begins with a delicious breakfast and a detailed briefing from the guides so everyone knows what to expect: temperatures, wind, avalanche conditions, and the group’s departure time.

Lunch in the field, in the heart of the South Chilcotin Mountains is wonderful! There’s always hot soup, along with sandwiches, wraps, or something similar, vegetables, fruits and also something sweet.

The terrain is unparalleled; the Tyax area is vast and has something to offer every skier.

The lodge itself is in a very, very quiet location on Tyaughton Lake and offers everything you need after a day of skiing—and it’s also a great place to spend in case of a downday! It features a spa with a huge hot tub, a Finnish sauna, a steam room, a heat cabin, a gym, excellent massage services, and activities on the frozen lake.

A delicious multi-course dinner with a fine selection of wines rounds off a fantastic day.

In summary: Tyax is the ultimate destination for heliskiing.

I´ve been there for several times now. since 2016. The staff is still and has always been exceptionel, Finnick the mountaincat as the unsung hero, the amenities of the lodge are awesome, the food is great.
Unfortunately, this year we had very bad weather conditions with 5 down days in a row. Nevertheless the staff did everthing they could to offer a varied alternative program of "ground activities", they always stayed positive, I never felt any kind of frustration in this situation. This is a really big thing which impresses me a lot because it is not a given. Thank you guys for the week :-))

I have experienced heliskiing in many places around the world, and this Canadian trip at Tyax will remain in my memory. An excellent and highly experienced team (guides and helicopter pilot), combined with excellent food and service at the lodge, made the experience remarkable.
We were fortunate with the weather, snow conditions, and group dynamics, which allowed us to explore both tree and alpine terrain and achieve 38,000 m of vertical.

What an outstanding experience - the best lodge in Canada we have been with highly dedicated staff, who made every wish happen.
Fantastic skiing terrain for all weather conditions with beautiful tree skiing and even better alpine big glacier skiing.
Very experienced guides who will maximize the safety while finding the best runs in each condition paired with a pilot who can fly in every weather condition.
After skiing apero, the spa and the gym will provide all options for relaxation to get fit for the next day.

Had an amazing week with Tyax. First time heliskiing, and could not have been happier with the experience. The transit to and from Tyax lodge was smooth and easy. The lodge was excellent — spacious clean comfortable rooms, inviting and fun lodge common space (dining, bar, game area), and relaxing spa. All meals were excellent with top level cuisine. The skiing was terrific: our highly experienced guides and pilot did a great job of demonstrating safety protocols and then ensuring we had a safe but totally fun set of runs each day. The single group heli model was terrific as we were able to cater to the conditions of the day without being hostage to juggling multiple groups. The terrain was spectacular and the powder was awesome. Over the 4.5 days we got 45 runs in, for a total of about 24,000m vertical. Plans to return, and would definitely recommend !

This was my 3rd trip to Tax and despite to bad weather conditions on 3 of 5 days, it was again worth going there. This time I came with my son, so safety becomes even a bigger topic. We had outstanding professional and very friendly guides and an excellent experiences pilot. Food was great and the restaurant/bar service team was doing great too.

I am looking froward coming back probably already next year.

We had a group of eight very experienced skiers (4 under 30 and 4 over 55) go up to Tyax for three and a half days of heli-skiing. We could not have had a better experience. The staff was gracious, the food was fantastic (even accommodating one of our members who has Celiac's with awesome gluten-free food), and the skiing was as good as it could be - fresh tracks all day long. Stu, our helicopter pilot, was very experienced and a clear pro. And, none of this could have worked without the guides - G$ and Alex, who picked great runs and made us feel safe all around.
BC is a great place to ski, and this is a great way to do it!

We spent our first heli-skiing vacation at Tyax lodge. After a warm welcome at Pemberton airport we were received by Don, our pilot, who flew us to Tyax in just 20 minutes. After touchdown at the lodge, we met with our guides Dave and Jason and got our safety briefing on moving round the helicopter. The staff of the lodge greeted us with hot chocolate and home made cookies, after that we were invited to choose our (perfect) skis and get our gear for the week. Another briefing on avalanche-safety followed outside. All was done thoroughly, however in an easy and comforting manner. We gained a lot of confidence in our two guides. Dinner was soon served and it was - as all the following meals - lovely. Our guides attended dinner at our table, so we got to know them. The following day, our stunning experience begun. Don flew us in to one of seemingly countless areas of the Tyax-world, Dave introduced us into the first run in virgin powder and we were picked up in the valley by Don again. And so it went on: one landing spot after the other, chopper only for our group, the entire day adjusted to our wishes (obviously directed by Dave in a discrete manner). Needless to say, that tea and cookies as well as lunch were served just next to the chopper, Tyax takes pride in feeding the guests every 2 hours :-). Allthough we were told, that the snow conditions in this winter were bad, Dave and Jason found wonderful runs, untouched and just for us to drop in. The area is fantastic, seemingly with no borders at all. It offers runs for almost all levels of skiers, providing basic skills in powder skiing are given. Glaciers and trees, chutes and broad rolling runs are to be found. We felt extremely safe, our guides making sure of everything. Most importantly, our seasoned pilots are the ones to make the decisions. Even if the weather conditions were challenging at times, our pilots and guides found skiable spots, with the exception of just half a down-day. However, they made up for it in the afternoon. Coming back from skiing, tea and snacks are served, and after nice chats with the young staff the lodge offers wellness and "recovery" opportunities. Over all, our expectations were extremely high - the Tyax-folks went way beyond. See you, hopefully very soon!
