Group
Each session is for a maximum of 12 skiers/riders. Flowline Cat Skiing is mixed group cat skiing so solos, duos and small groups are welcome to join a session. The culture set facilitates group bonding and working as a tight crew out in the backcountry, with the day finishing around the firepit to complete the circle of trust.
Pending availability, it’s also possible to have a private cat and lodge buyout. Please get in touch for details.
Ability Level
The ability level required for the cat skiing is strong intermediate through to expert skiers and snowboarders. This refers to ability level in off-piste conditions including deep powder amongst trees. If you can confidently ride any black diamond in-bounds at a ski resort with variable snow conditions, and you’ve got the legs for a long day of riding, you’ll be at home at Flowline. If you’re open to it, you’ll be able to get a few tips to improve your powder skiing or riding.
An ethos of achieving flow state is that all guests leave ego behind. It’s not welcome in the backcountry where teamwork is key to safely enjoying the mountains.
Equipment
Avalanche safety equipment is provided including transceivers, probes, shovels, radios and a backpack. The first riding day includes avalanche safety training, covering the use of the equipment.
Demo snowboards are available for use, whilst skiers should bring fat powder skis.
You’ll need to bring your own ski or snowboard boots, helmet, outerwear, and clothing layers and personal equipment.
