Resort at Squaw Creek

Resort at Squaw Creek

Resort at Squaw Creek, Lake Tahoe

The ski-in ski-out Resort at Squaw Creek is a top class full service resort hotel with its own lift access to the gob-smacking Palisades Tahoe ski resort (formerly Squaw Valley). Resort at Squaw Creek has everything you could want from a ski vacation all in the one complex. It has elegance without the pretense. Staying here is definitely the way to go skiing or boarding.

The main building is a massive, black monstrosity juxtapositioned against tall pines and snow clad hills. It initially strikes one as being completely out of sync with the surrounding environment. But it grows on you – it works.

Where is the Resort at Squaw Creek?

The Resort at Squaw Creek is located at the Palisades Tahoe Ski Resort on the Olympic Valley side in the northern Lake Tahoe area of California. The Resort at Squaw Creek is conveniently next to the Squaw Creek/Resort Lift chair lift giving exclusive access to the ski resort, one ski run away from the famous KT22.

The Resort at Squaw Creek address is 400 Squaw Creek Road, Olympic Valley. The resort at Squaw Creek is located about 2.6 miles by road from the main Village at Palisades Tahoe. There are free shuttles between the resort and the village every 30 minutes during the day and into the evening.

The closest major airport is in Reno, about an hour’s drive away. Shuttles to and from the Resort at Squaw Creek are available.

Hotel Rooms & Condos

The hotel rooms at Resort at Squaw Creek are superbly furnished and spacious. Rooms are located with either a forest view or a valley view (panoramic view of the entire Olympic Valley and surrounding peaks). Superb

The Resort at Squaw Creek was a fabulous spot to stay whilst visiting Squaw Valley.

We stayed in a beautiful one bedroom condo that was upscale and delightfully spacious. The bedding was divine – one of the most comfortable night’s sleep you’ll have anywhere.

The ski-in ski-out location was fantastic and it was all too easy to just drop our skis with the ski valet at the end of the day. The only exception to the convenience of the location would be for beginners, who’d need to catch the shuttle to and from the village to access the beginners’ terrain and ski school.

It’s an all-inclusive resort, and with so many amenities and service there’s no great need to leave the resort except to go skiing. There are good dining options on-site, although to mix it up we headed into the village for dinner one night. It was easy enough to catch the shuttle, although it would have been ideal if the schedules were more frequent or on demand.

We would love to stay at Squaw Creek again!

Whilst the accommodation comes at a price that you'd expect for such luxury, the Resort at Squaw Creek provides one of the most comfortable all inclusive ski holidays you’ll find.

The ski-in/ski-out location is the best on the hill and the range of facilities, activities, services and eateries, level of comfort in rooms and professionalism of staff are all top notch.
