Ripley Creek Inn Packages

Ripley Creek Inn in Stewart BC is a base of operations for Last Frontier Heliskiing (along with Bell 2 Lodge). Ripley Creek is located in Stewart BC, a little old mining town on the border of Alaska. See the Last Frontier Heliskiing location tab for more information. Stewart is not a bustling town full of tourists. With a population of approximately 500 folks (and probably much less during winter), it’s very small, quiet and delightfully remote.

The terrain accessed from Ripley Creek in the southern part of the LFH tenure is exciting and offers long runs on glaciers and in open bowls as well as some of the most spectacular tree runs anywhere.

The historic Ripley Creek Inn has been lovingly restored and provides plenty of character. The surrounding buildings are also quite remarkable and offer a little flavour of the colourful history of this gold mining town.

You have the option of 4, 5 and 7 day trips and the Last Frontier heli skiing consists of only 3 groups of 4 guests and a certified guide (A.C.M.G. or U.I.A.G.M.) per helicopter. Each of the heliski packages has a vertical guarantee, with skiing and snowboarding beyond that charged per additional 1,000 vertical metres (or feet). This has the advantage over the unlimited vertical packages of some other operators, in that you’re not paying a premium upfront for skiing that you might not get.

The package also includes all meals, après-ski snacks, and the use of powder skis and poles or snowboard, avalanche transceivers, and other safety equipment including ABS airbags.

If the conditions are unfavourable for flying, there are some other activities in Stewart. Go fishing on the Portland Canal, visit a museum for a history lesson, or check-out one of the local watering holes for a chance to meet some of the locals that call Stewart BC their home. Or head across the border to Hyder Alaska, an incredibly eccentric town that has a particularly quirky pub where you can get Hyderized!

Here is a short teaser video to show what you can expect on a Last Frontier package....

Last Frontier (LFH) Booking Terms & Conditions

Registration and Payment
The space available for heliskiing in our remote wilderness lodges is LIMITED. (Each year there are less spaces available) To avoid disappointment, LFH strongly suggest you register early. A deposit for each guest must to be made to Last Frontier Heliskiing within 10 days of receiving a written/email reservation confirmation. The payment of the balance is due 90 days prior to the beginning of the heli-skiing package. If the payment balance required is not received by Last Frontier Heliskiing on time, LFH reserve the right to cancel the reservation without notice to the skier and the deposit will be retained by Last Frontier Heliskiing. For bookings made less than 90 days prior to the trip start date, the full package price is due at time of booking.

LFH certainly hope you don't ever have to, but, if a cancellation is necessary for any reason, it should be made by e-mail . Receipt of the e-mail must be acknowledged BEFORE the confirmation can be processed. If a confirmed reservation has to be cancelled more than 90 days before the beginning of the package, Last Frontier Heliskiing will retain the deposit. The deposits for heli-skiing are totally non-refundable. If a cancellation is made less than 90 days before the arrival date, the total package payments will be retained. No cancellation fee has to be paid if the skier cancelling his package finds himself a suitable person as his substitute to take over the contractual obligations, but only if the cancelled space is still available.

Additional Travel Insurance
Trip cancellation and In-Canada medical coverage can be purchased through LFH insurance agent. The approximate cost will be between 4-6% of the trip cost. Other types of travel insurance that LFH recommend are:

Medical insurance to cover any hospital costs and ambulance expenses in Canada
Personal insurance to cover loss of baggage, skis and personal belongings
Liability insurance

Make sure these insurances cover you for all parts of your vacation.
