The Tyrol has some of the world's best powder skiing, and with a multitude of incredible ski resorts within an hour of its centre, Innsbruck is situated as one of the great ski cities. But as a winter visitor to Innsbruck, where should one go to experience the powder? Perhaps the answer is simple......
Simply make the most of your stay in Tyrol by skiing with a fully certified and professional ski instructor and mountain guide by your side. Let your guide track down the best snow and design a customised freeride powder experience just for you & your group - perfectly tailored to your skills and wishes.

- Ski the best snow in the Tirol.
- Ride big mountain terrain selected specifically for your group's ability & wishes.
- Enjoy breathtaking mountain vistas.
- Be shown the best Tyrolean mountain huts & experiences.

- If conditions are favourable, this could be the best powder day of your life, and if conditions are not favourable for powder, it will still be the most wonderful voyage of discovery in the mountains of the Tirol.
A Guided Powder Day
Whilst these guided day trips are specifically targeted at people staying in or near Innsbruck, the ski resort options include just about anywhere between the Stubai valley to the east, closer to Innsbruck at the likes of Axamer Lizum, and the Paznaun (Ischgl, Kappl, See etc) plus Arlberg (St Anton etc) to the west.
Prior to the day(s) of the tour, the guide will clarify your group's ski ability and expectations, then plan the day's outing based on that information plus the current snow, weather and avalanche conditions. On the day, you will be picked at the pre-arranged time from your hotel and driven to the tour's destination. After skiing, and perhaps a little après ski(!), be dropped back at your accommodation just before dinner time.
The tour can spend the day hunting powder directly off the ski lifts within a particular resort; using the ski lifts to access sidecountry powder via skinning or bootpacking; or a full-on backcountry ski day avoiding the ski resorts altogether.
In the mountains of Tirol there is something for everybody. Cruisy wide open powder bowls, scenic peaks with long descents all the way down to the valley, glacier skiing, sheltered tree skiing, and of course for those wanting to be challenged, steep technical terrain & couloirs.
Transport
Transport for you and your group (up to 4 guests) is included in the tour tariff from your hotel in Innsbruck to the relevant ski area for the day & return. Any groups greater than 4 people may require additional transport (for an extra fee) depending on the ski resort destination for the day. If you are staying away from Innsbruck, arrangements can made for a pick-up or to meet as required. Just ask the guide.
Ski Ability & Gear
As these are private tours, all ski & snowboard abilities can be catered for; however it is often best for all participants to be of a similar level of ability & experience. There is no better feeling when skiing than riding powder, so even if your group is new to powder skiing, as a fully qualified & experienced instructor the day can provide all the ski technique and mountain safety tips to set you up for a future as a 'certified powder hound'. For those at the other end of the ability scale, the guide will show you best terrain & snow, whilst ensuring your safety the whole time.
Powder skis, snowboards, ski-touring or splitboarding gear (including avalanche safety equipment) are not included. There will be options for rental of any necessary equipment. Inquire with the tour operator at the time of booking.
